Diggsey's Recurve in plugin store: Double click the face to select edges+face, unselect the face, cursor on edge, right click context menu/Recurve/Recurve edges. Then text tool gives you the perimeter. Its a workaround but if you set shortcuts it can be very fast.

Get current view was until version 7. Now there is add location - you can access it from the file menu, the GE Toolbar or the Window menu > Model info > Location tab. It will open a built-in GE browser where you need to go (and zoom) to your location, select the area and import that into SU. It will import a colour image now but the downside is that you cannot import your overlay image from GE.

Welcome 'lurker' Installing Pro8 should retain any of your Free8 personalized additions to Plugins etc. However, if you were to go 'cross-version' then v7 stuff stays in the '7' path and you'd need to copy personal stuff over from any v7 folders into the equivalent v8 folders... Once you have finished your 8Pro trial you can choose to license it and what you had will be retained. Alternatively, if you revert to 8Free you will need to 'uninstall' 8Pro: however, once again any customized files in that installation's folders should be kept and then re-recognized by the new Free8 installation that reuses the existing folders...
