Wow, what a sad announcement.

As a hobbyist making GE models for my local city, I can only commiserate with those passionate folk who have spent what must be millions!! of hours working on this project.

Probably as great a loss is the wonderfully effective platform which educators had to engage our children in the topics of urban environment and building design, being able to re-create their own neighbourhoods as lasting, sharable models within google earth.

These drawings are an inspiration. Our head office insists on using a complex BIM package to do all documention (SD, DD, CD) when we mostly do only small and medium projects. Unfortunately Sketchup is still viewed by a few (influential) people here as 'just a toy', never having spent much time to learn its potential.

Having completed a couple of smaller side jobs with sketchup / layout, I find the workflow so much more enjoyable.

Will take a look at Jims toolbar plugin. If this allows to build custom toolsets in one toolbar, then might be just what I was thinking of.

Was wondering if a plugin was available which enabled easy change from one set of pre-positioned toolbars to another, depending upon the task at hand. Any info appreciated.
