I use SU with MicroGDS. I've used MicroGDS for many years and have never seen anything better for a fully integrated professional CAD application. For presentation, nothing can beat MicroGDS and the multi-user capability is second to none. It has a fully integrated 3D modelling and rendering capability too, supports SU file import and, like Sketchup, the Piranesi EPIX file format.

MicroGDS even has many SU-like modelling tools, such as Face Move (which is very similar to Push/Pull.)

Absolutely NOT for longer journeys such as London/Edinburgh though! IF you can book your tickets in advance it is almost always cheaper to buy two singles now. This is because the best discounts are applied on advance purchase tickets for single journeys. On very long journeys it can even be cheaper to buy separate tickets for different sections of the journey as at certain times premium fares apply to journeys that start or finish at London stations.

In any case, it will always be cheaper to book in advance - a minimum of 7 days, though the further the better. I think that advance purchase tickets are released about 2 months before the journey.

Sue - it depends on the time of day.

I would NOT recommend using the underground in rush hour with luggage!

It is a pretty shabby journey too - 45 mins to central London on uncomfortable, often overcrowded, and sometimes dirty trains.

Heathrow Express would be better - 15 mins journey on comfortable, clean, modern trains, but expensive. Notoriously the most expensive per mile cost of any mode of public transport in the world!

There are lots of sites that do what you suggest - certainly here in the UK. I've signed up with a few recently and have had enquiries and one real job so far.

For pure networking, you should give LINKEDIN a go. Groups are available for lots of professions - there are even Sketchup groups.

There is a novel, and highly appropriate way to register a protest. An architectural design competition that is open to anyone.

Anyway - I'm going to vote, but I will not be voting for anyone in the main parties. seems to me there are only 4 ways to register a protest:

1. Don't vote, but this is futile and the politicians choose to see this as apathy rather than a protest.
2. Spoil the voting paper, but this is futile as politicians choose to see this as vandalism.
3. Vote for a minority candidate. The only vote that counts if you see what I mean.
4. Stand for election yourself. Oh, come on! Who has time for that!

Another name for your list. Quite a small army assembling - between us we could take on the world!

Images are hosted on depositfiles.com - I've had little luck downloading - mostly I get directed to a PartyPoker web site when I click the download button and the download does not work.

The Revit SKP importer does not bring in Sketchup textures.

Does anyone know of a way to get them across to Revit?

I'd have to agree with you. Diverting resources on to a Linux port is not really a great idea. It would only be acceptable if the Linux port was achieved entirely using additional resources.
