I don't know if 'blinded' is the correct word. The oral traditions of storytelling and songs certainly must go right back to the earliest days of humanity and i believe those traditions continue through to this day. Part of being human is to communicate with stories. Some of the stories we all know may have had their germination many thousands of years ago. For instance, many people believe that traditional biblical stories evolved to incorporate enough of older pagan stories that the 'new' stories had a timeless familiarity to them. That would help to communicate the message of the new story and make it more believable and memorable. Broad themes like love, betrayal, pride, anger, hope and fear must have been talked about as long as there have been people. It makes sense that the really good stories developed over time are still with us in some form today even if hard to recognize. If we could go back and visit the caveman days I think we might be surprised by the familiarity of many of their campfire stories. They might understand some of our stories too. Regards, Ross

Well, I checked and my place also has the GMaps now as a layer in GE (it didn't use to be there). Even typing in adresses work (which did not for Hungary previously). Although I'm not exactly convinced that the position of the roads are correct. It seems that east-west it's OK but north-south there's a small distortion. I still need to check and I'll show you what I mean.

Bye the way I noticed your studio forum. My cousin by marriage is building a studio in New York right now so I sent the link to my wife so she can get it to him. He taught himself SU so he could design the concept.Thought it was interesting.

My ex is doing Landscape Architecture at uni. I told her I was using Sketchup - never heard of it was the reply. She was using Rhino, then later she was using Vectorworks, she told me the other day she is about to start using SU - because everyone else is using it I offered to help if she needed tutoring on the program, she laughed and said I would regret making such an offer, no I won't I said. I still haven't received a request for tutoring

$700 Mil might sound like a lot, but when you consider that the existing interior also has to be removed, without damage to the structure, and the fact that it is a government project with all it's inherent burocracy, that's probably not a bad figure.

john, I was raised to think that displaying good manners everywhere is a way to show respect for other people. it does not seem to be that popular anymore as we are all the time confronted with behaviour like you described, plus people speaking loudly on their cell phones (as if you had to take part in their private life), and stuff like that. not old fashioned, perhaps not in synch with the rough times we are going through. best wishes. edson

Interesting idea. I did wonder something similar myself, but using the pedals from a gaming steering wheel set. It seemed you needed to have the pedals plugged into the steering wheel though for them to work and I didn't really want a steering wheel sat on my desk!
