Table manners

I was at a restaurant today and a few tables away a man spent the whole time talking with his cutlery and eating with his mouth open. I was far enough away not to have to put up with the sound.
Am I just old fashioned?

It drives me up the wall when ppl have bad table manners. I mean, for common decency's sake...!

Not at all John, my 3 year old son has better manners. I have trouble getting past stuff like that (despite what my avatar might make you believe), and I think it's pretty telling of one's personality.

I was raised to think that displaying good manners everywhere is a way to show respect for other people. it does not seem to be that popular anymore as we are all the time confronted with behaviour like you described, plus people speaking loudly on their cell phones (as if you had to take part in their private life), and stuff like that.
not old fashioned, perhaps not in synch with the rough times we are going through.
