RE: Spaceship (Collaborative Project)
Since i had the day off work i said id try and get ahead on this and give her some more fire power and more wings for lift during atmospheric flight, Marion wont know what hit him until he gets home from work to see this monstrosity....

RE: Spaceship (Collaborative Project)
Ummmm i still wasn't happy with the length so i made some more alterations to compact it even more, i'm a lot more happier with the shorter version, what ya think Marion?

RE: Spaceship (Collaborative Project)
Ok heres my version, i decided to scale it down further and make it a single seater rather than Marions double seater, i also decreased the main body length and added to wings to the tail, not to mention the big ass gatling gun just to the front of the cockpit

RE: Spaceship (Collaborative Project)
Hold up, i need to prepare some images of my version

RE: How PAOK FC stole my design from 3D warehouse [IMO]
That's a direct copy alright, I'd feel cheated by that too if I were you

RE: [Request] A one button texture rotate solution
I'm guessing that he wants to use 1 texture, I maybe wrong tho, but if your using 1 texture and want to export the model without the added extra unique textures and so on I find my technic works, sometimes adjusting pins can accidentally alter the scale of the texture and that makes another texture, I don't think I can rotate a texture without adjusting the pins, which I recommend against, apply the texture to a plane, make it a component which will lock the texture to that surface, explode that same component and copy the texture from the surface and the rotation will be what you need, but also bare in mind if you adjust the scale then SU will automatically create a unique texture if you export the model, but then again I could be wrong to what he actually wants, lol

RE: [Request] A one button texture rotate solution
Texture a plane, make a component, rotate 90degrees, explode, copy texture and there ya have it, works for me every time

RE: 3D models from photos
I seen this the other day, I'm confused to how the background is there when the model is moved, a little strange, but IMO I think this demonstration is what to expect at it's best, I'm sure it has many flaws

RE: Export a animation for a game (flightsimulator)
It will not export the animation, the animation in sketchup only works in sketchup, you will need to re-animate outside sketchup, I was just giving you an alternative to getting ur model with texture into other 3D applications

RE: Export a animation for a game (flightsimulator)
Convert to fbx using "autodesks fbx converter" then import to blender, or use the .obj exporter plugin, your textures will import into blender that way

RE: Sky Tower (Oblivion Movie) - WIP
That would be great Pete, looking forward to doing some tests with this

RE: Sky Tower (Oblivion Movie) - WIP
Pete you ave a talent for rendering, impressive, would you mind saving the file to an older version of sketchup, I'm still on version 8

RE: Desert Command HQ
Mark what are you trying to do to me, i just got home from work, lol, looking great tho

RE: Sky Tower (Oblivion Movie) - WIP
I use unity more than others, but cry engine is very powerful and can create very realistic environments, no coding needed what so ever but there is a learning curve, it's not easy to pick up but once you figure it out it can perform some amazing results, thanks for sharing the model, I'm working on a project at the moment and when I get around to it I may try it in a game engine

RE: Oculus Rift VR
Ok, took a while to get the Oculus rift but I received it about 3wks ago, and I tell you this is a serious piece of kit.
At first I taught maybe the low Rez would take away from it but was I wrong, you really get the sensation that you have been teleported somewhere else when wearing the rift, there are already a huge variety of demos to test out on this device and my only description is "amazing".
I've watched dinosaurs walk past, taken a spacewalk in a EVA suit at the ISS, drove a Scania truck across Europe, sky dived, etc etc... And all experiences felt real in the rift.
Where do I see this going in relation to SU? Well I think it will benefit model development in SU, been able to look around your creations in 3D and build models would benefit modellers more, head movement can be used to navigate around your model as you create would make it more natural, seen depth would also feel more natural, I've seen on the Oculus forums that developers are already discussing how best to integrate this device into Maya, 3D Max and so on, they like myself see potential here, I also see that that oculus team are already testing and show casing the HD version of the rift, it really is the future, if anyone her had ever played skyrim and amazed as I was of the detail and vast landscape, well you should see it in the rift, feels like your actual there in that environment.
