      I wish I knew how to package a PS action into a plugin for PS. I've been trying to perfect an action that allows the user to set tile size / edge profile / colour or map / specularity and texture, grout width / colour / roughness / depth and then save out color map, spec map and bump / normal map. Would be a great tool if I knew a bit more to package it properly!

      That would be amazing

    • RE: Bar Project WIP Photo Match [UPDATED 8th July]

      Hey Oli
      Here's another reason I have to learn photo match. Are you still working on these are you posted images your final? I think you have done a fantastic job. I’m not sure if this is a photo match thing, but the photo in the back ground looks a bit folded and low res.
      I think the people’s positions are fantastic. I can feel the wind down after work and the noise of chatter.
      There just one thing that I feel is alittle off. You have used people that look dressed for summer and winter. There’s the girl with the short skirt in the foreground. Then there’s the girl to her left dressed in full winter attire.
      I may have it completely wrong, and this is how Manchurians dress down once inside a bar in winter.
      The panels on the bar you have used are amazing. Design wise, not my cup of tea. But as a texture they look very real. Well done.

      @Sepo and Oli
      I have recently fired the block layer. His quality control was abysmal. His attitude stunk as well. This little project was more for learning materials and lighting, not so much for the perfect looking room. Apart from the wood texture on the kitchen divide I'm really happy how the materials came out.

      @Oli
      V-Ray is a fantastic programme. Its taken me about a month(Many many many hours) of trail and error to get to this stage. I really feel I have only scrapped about 25% of what it can do. So along with the countless hours researching on the forums, theres plenty more of research to go.
      But enjoying every minute of it.

      @artsmedia
      The texture on the kitchen divide/bar is so wrong. I don't have a large wood laminate texture. Ive just bought the arroway texture package. But I'm still waiting for it in the mail.

      @silver_shadow
      Thanks for your encouraging words. That table in the foreground, is actually meant to be like that. I copied the design out of a magazine. The table has these dark grooves along the edges. I can see how it looks like a line overlay.
      It was images like yours that pushed me to buy V-ray. Wondered where you had got to after Podium.
      Cheers again for the comments, but shouldn't you be working on eyecandy 3 😄

      yesterday i've come across this bad news: http://cgdigg.com/story.php?title=silo-is-almost-dead

      My fear now with this recent events, is google stop developing sketchup for pro users and turn sketchup to a google earth tool...the worst part is i really believe this is happening and they are preparing the people for that (hope i'm wrong and better don't give them ideas...)

      A sad day indeed, especially for silo users...

      I would have to agree with you. I really hope not. I would love to see this programme of ours developed further. But cant see how that would really benefit google as a company. Their driving force for SU is google Earth. Cant see them spending time to develop it to the standard of other competing software.

      Hope we are wrong.

      Trying to learn V-Ray

      I havnt posted before so thought was about time,

      Hi
      Ive just finished going through the manual. This is my first attempt at a proper scene. (This is the best of about 6 renders)
      I'm just experimenting with V-Ray sun and textures. Ive come from Podium, so finding V-Ray quiet overwelming.

      I would love you guy's to crit this

      Don't be afraid to tear this apart. I want to get good at this.
