Don't know if you've got V-ray, but I'd suggest you render something with it then export it to JPG as well as PNG and start laughing at the results I always export PNG but if JPG is needed I change it in Photoshop [100%, with no notable quality loss]

RE: [Plugin] V-Ray Tools
This is brilliant, I just closed SU thinking 'wouldn't it be great...', then clicked on the forum and read this [gives you a strange feeling, I tell you ]
Needles to say, thank you very much!
*edit
Don't seem to get it working correctly [using SU 6 and V-Ray 1.5]
Looks like the render is zoomed in too much [the dialog show 1,919 and nothing else ] -
RE: Scrollbars?
I believe it came at the same time as the 66% column width did [couple of weeks?]

RE: Here's the latest DWC learnings...
As mentioned in your other topic, nice images... What I wouldn't give to be able to draw like that
[Probably a kidney and part of my liver ]

Also, Sketchyphysics doesn't really take the real geometry of an object into account, only a simplification of that object, like a cube or a sphere.
That's not entirely true, you can select 'convexhull' [or something that closely resembles that word ] and that will make some sort of wrapper around the object giving it a pretty realistic effect.

RE: Green Toaster's Car Sketches
Not to be the party pooper in your 45 page counting brain fart, but wouldn't it be nice to finish or work out one of your models? From the first to the last page there is little to no progress Why don't you try adding stuff like mirrors, headlights you know? Some detail... Or try different versions of one car? Might keep things interesting for us too
This is, by the way, meant as constructive criticism and I hope you will see it as that.

RE: My first rendering
Look pretty impressive. And, if you compare it to my first 'render' it is godlike
The next step you could take is adding a bump map to the floor, which will make it look far more realistic

As far as the lines bleeding through...it's a Hypershot thing more than a sketchup thing.
Yeah, SU fools you by smoothing out geometry and Hypershot just ignores it
Very nice model by the way, looks like a selling image

RE: Some Sort Of A Village (sort of a W.I.P.)
Good God Kevin, are you seriously 'F5'ing SketchUcation.com???

RE: Some Sort Of A Village (sort of a W.I.P.)
Well, your signature sums it up pretty good...

...if i remember correctly crysis averages about 1 million triangles, which isnt far off what SU can handle.
Thanks Remus, now I've seen it all .Well, you're right. But you might want to mention that, with a pretty standard PC, Crysis will throw those 1 million triangles at you at 40 fps with a lot of eye candy and SU will haaandle it, looking very crispy with shadows turned of... [I'm not even talking about textures here]
OT, I think the whole interview sounds like an excuse, which shouldn't be the case when you're releasing 'new' software. I mean, the whole keeping it easy and clean for a wide variety of people to be able to work with SU, I'm buying. But no need for multicore support?... Seriously?
Am I [are we] too demanding, asking for multicore support, shadow bug fix [yes, legal issues, bla bla] or something as simple as locking toolbars?

RE: Ideas and thoughts for Cadyou.
Well, your site looks very profesional, thumbs up for that
Things to improve:
Separate ads from content, makes it easier to navigate your site
Get a php database running so that you can easily order search results and such.Other than that I can't think of anything to improve your site [well, not now anyway ]
Keep it up!
*edit
skip the last one, did some more clicking on your site and the search options in the database are pretty good.

Yes the DOF really makes the rest of the building pop out

RE: Router Boss WIP
Very nice images indeed. Makes me want to buy it, though I know I'll never use it
Love the IKEA style assembly picture -
RE: Which render application is fastest to setup?
Well, working with v-ray gives you the option to link a v-ray material with a Sketchup material, which can really speed up your workflow. It comes as a plugin in Sketchup which also makes it relatively easy. Takes some time [and probably a manual] to learn though...

RE: Do we have a Joke Thread goin here?
First of KDSDESIGN [Kids Design ]
No quoting of messages right above yours. I believe Coen has given you a warning about this also.
Secondly, I'm having a very hard time believing that you are 22. Those 'jokes' look like they've been typed by a hyperactive 10 year old
