[REQ] Splitting screen for render
I've thought about this for 2 weeks now, and it's the first ruby request idea that isn't totally selfish
[others could benefit from it as well ]The idea is to create a ruby that can split the screen into 4 or 9 separate screens divided over pages. This means that every screen has to have its camera position placed so, that when combined again [after rendering for example] they form 1 image.
This would be most helpful for rendering since most things above 3000 x 2000 will eat my PC [and most of my fellow members' PC's too ]
Off course this would only be possible if the pages are rendered at there view screen resolution [or at least the screen aspect ratio [I'm talking about your PC resolution minus SketchUp tool bars and UI]
for me that would mean going from a max of 3000 x 1500 to 4600 x 2400 [ish] and even bigger if you throw in the aspect ratio thingwith the things I've seen here this one looks pretty easy to make
And it would make me very happy

RE: SketchUpBBS--My SketchUp6 plugins picture
This would off course be awesome if you posted some links to the plugins you are using

For the moment only Indigo, Maxwell and Fry support proxies/instancing from within SU.
And it sucks, if only V-ray would support it... It would literally save me hours ^^

RE: Silvershadow's eye candy 1: The river runs thru it
Nice tutorials! And a very nice model
try to texture that!

RE: Copy / paste ?
Yes, it's 'normal'
since a hinge [or other connection] will get a name atached to it. Once you copy it it will try to react the same as the first one resulting in weird animations. Solution edit the connector's name and all should be fine.

get close to the surface then click the scroll, move trough the surface side-ways
thats how I do it too.
but every time I need to do that, I curse myself for having manoeuvred myself in that situation in the first place.
I am getting better and better in evading it thoughYes, the best way I found to evade this 'problem' is by always working in layers
keeps te model clean

RE: Zooming through objects?
The trick I used is to get close to the surface then click the scroll, move trough the surface side-ways and once inside zoom further
since I got a 3dconnexion space navigator that got a hell of a lot easier ^^

RE: An Accidental Abstract
Nice effect Fred!
An other cool thing to do with your image is to use the 'normal pushpull' option that comes with joint push pull on your model, it does this to a sphere:

RE: Uni Project SU output / Renders
I hope you've added the grayscale image with your presentation. It gives you so much information while the renders [though very cool effect] give little to no info on the building.
Nice project

RE: Question: you can change the comma?
Learn English you should! :yoda:
I think you are asking if the dot [point] and comma are the same thing in SU?
Well, no. Comma's are being used as separators between two inputs and the dot sorta works like a normal commaHope this clears things up for you
