    Hi,

Just trying to texture a model (having returned to Sketchup after a couple of years) and I'm unable to find 'make unique texture'. When I click on a face on the model the option isn't there! Where is it?

    Cheers,

    Ginger_Overlord.

Is it painted with a texture?

Have you hidden geometry turned on?

It only works on single faces when the material was applied directly on the face so make sure to check this list (keeping the Entity info box may help identifying issues):

        • If it is a curved surface (i.e. there are softened edges), it does not work. Turn on hidden geometry (View menu) to se if this is the case
        • If the face is inside a group and you are clicking on the group (component), it does not work - edit the group and access the bare faces inside.
        • If the material was added to a group/component, you will have no access to the make unique (or position) tools even when editing the group. Here comes the entity info box handy: check what material it reports when you select the whole group and (while editing it) select an individual face. If it is notthe material you want to make unique, add it to the face first.
I cannot think about anything else now - if the above does not solve your problems, please, post the model or at lest the part in question.

          Hi,

          Thanks for your replies.

          I've tried hidden and un-hidden.
The model is within a component but I double-click this in order to edit it (is this right?).
There is a mixture of curved and flat faces, I'm attempting to edit a flat face.

I'll attach my model in my next post if you are still stuck for answers.

          Cheers,

          Ginger_Overlord.
