Nothing like answering your own question......

I found the answer....by accident. I selected the pineapple (from within the component), left-clicked it. There was a prompt about keeping the same scale. I just selected YES. And SAVED it by itself. I wasn't sure about the SCALE prompt.

    • Re-using Parts of Components

      Hi everybody :

Question : Can a "part" of a component be copied to use in another component. I made this bed. But......as an after-thought, I should've saved the "pineapple" as a separate entity...So I could use it again. I just want to copy it, and insert it into another piece of (component) furniture.

      Hi,

From someone who was there, looks like you got it about right, but where is the lava lamp?

Hmmmmmm..........I forgot about the Lava Lamp !!!! Thanks for your
support. The only thing I have to (VERY) careful of is any copyrighted material. When I BING a pic...I DO select the "switch" for the Licenses. Preferrably the "Free to share and modify" option. Even though I'm only posting it for non-commercial, not-for-sale.

    • Inserting Window and Doors

      Hi everybody :

I'm in the "Intermediate" class....trying to learn more about inserting window/door components into a single or double faced surface. I simply drew a square. Pulled it a little. Then I imported a window that I created. Made it a component. Checked the "Glue to" box.....to "any". Clicked the "create opening" box. Left the Replace component bot checked. But, when I went to insert it into the desired location, it wouldn't cut the opening. But, the door component from the Architecture Library (3D Warehouse) cut the opening soon as I placed. What's the difference between the premade window (3D Warehouse) and the window I created. Obviously, I'm doing SOMETHING wrong....but what ?

      Hi everybody :

After downloading Setup.exe for Sketchup Make 2015, I got the error message referring to meeting the requirement of having Windows 7 or later..... Currently, I've got Windows 7 Professional / 32-bit. I'm not sure what other requirements I would have to meet.
                                                                   garystan

    • Blocky Look

      **Hi everybody :

Question : When drawing shapes, how do I avoid making them look "blocky". When rendered, the surfaces don't look smooth. I tried setting the number of sides for a circle, but I couldn't get it "set".

      **Krisidious :

Thanks for the tip on the roof. I initially wanted a "flat" roof. But, even though, a flat roof would've have that edge to it. I'll remember that next time. Question : Other than the "off" areas, does this pic have that slow and easy afternoon feel to it ?

Thanks for your review. And thenks for the "nice" review. I wasn't sure what material to use. I did want to include the outside of the building, but wasn't sure what texture to use. Being it is a reflective surface, I did have to tone down the brightness.

There ARE no F R E E rendering plugins for Sketchup. The prices start at $150 on up to $1000. Out of curiosity, I checked myself. Sorry to bust your bubble.
