Wow. Yeah, I agree with the focus bit - and I didn't care for the "fog" with the cannister lights. All in all, I thought it was pretty amazing.

RE: Nubs on end of lines and intersections
Not sure what you are referring to as I haven't seen that before, but you could check under Window > Styles > "Select" tab > Drop down menu select "Default" and see what happens.

Maybe he means this?

Or perhaps this:

Not sure, never know those existed until I did a search...

RE: SketchUp on Facebook
That's pretty darn funny. I wonder why they dislike it?

RE: Re: Some Funny Pics.
LOL! That's pretty funny.
Rabidplaybunny87; Okay, so my neighbors officially hate me GarbageStan23; why? Rabidplaybunny87; Well, me, david and andrew were having a bonfire in the backyard, and we were making s'mores and all... and suddenly we here sirens, and see a firetruck turn into the street in front of us. Rabidplaybunny87; So we all went running to see what was up, and our neigbor's house was on fire! GarbageStan23; oh shit! Rabidplaybunny87; Yeah, and when we got there, the wife was crying into her husbands arms, and we were just kinda standing there, and then she saw us, and then like for 10 seconds, gave us the dirtiest look ever Rabidplaybunny87; Turns out, we were still holding our sticks with marshmallows on it, watching the fire.... Rabidplaybunny87; talk about bad timing... -
RE: The Latest Harry Potter
I'm not knocking the Potter Fanchise, but I thought this was amusing:

[ <-- sarcasm, take no offense please...]So many new technologies that we haven't seen the long-term effects of yet. I know you're joking, but there is an element of truth to that.
In a way I feel that, even though it's pretty darn cool, this product is an invented necessity. What's the trouble with plugging things in? It seems like it would be wasteful to broadcast unused power in all directions, especially with all the concerns regarding the rise in need for energy and the rising cost of producing it.
Maybe I'm just becoming anti-change as I get older...

Looking forward to seeing your progress! I'm a big castle fan.

RE: Russian President Medvedev Shows Off Coin New World Currency
The problem I have with "single world" anything is that it has nothing at all to do with the people or the world, or making the world a better place. There is no altruistic reason for this, no reason to stop war, no halt to genocide, no cessation of doing all the stupid things humanity has done for a thousand years. If they wanted to create such a world, why not make it for free education? Free health care? Jobs for all? Stop the production of arms and ammunition worldwide? I figure this is every bit as reasonable as a centralized world government.
The reality is:
It's about money.
It's about business.
It's about greed.
It puts all the power and money in the hands of a few and makes it easier for businesses and commercial entities to access and control the flow of goods and resources around the world. Unless a "New World Order" includes a system to level the playing field for all peoples, it serves no purpose other than the aforementioned. Even if it did, it would never work; if a system of government like that actually worked, we would have started using it a long time ago.

Max number of plugins?
Is there a limit to how many plugins SU can handle? I've noticed as I've added some plugins that others have disappeared. "Fill small triangles" is one, I don't recall others off the top of my head.
I suppose it could be a conflict of some sort that causes them not to load.

RE: Good 3dsMax forums ?
Also:
A site dedicated to beginners learning how to use 3DS Max, Maya, etc... Lots of free tutorials and training videos. This site got me into 3d modeling, even though they have nothing on SU.

Wow. You've got a wild and crazy imagination, plus you apparently never sleep. I don't know how you find the time.
Amazing stuff.

RE: Global tower
Impressive!
The only comment I could make is that from an aerodynamic point of view, that tower is shaped like a wing surface (at least from the perspective offered in the pictures). That would be have to be taken into consideration as far as stresses go - and keeping windows in place!

RE: Fish Pie
Oh wow; when I saw "fish pie" it made me think of that rubbery-fishy flavored stuff you get in some Thai or Vietnamese restaurants.
That looks sooo much tastier...

According to that map, Norway goes under the category of "Commies"...

Oh yes, we think you're all socialists. It's just that you don't bother us enough to warrant notice. Besides, it's to cold there for us to be interested.

(J/K, that's sarcasm in case it isn't obvious)

RE: How many Rendering programs/add ons do you have?
I used to have several (or at least the demo version of); Indigo, Kerkythea, Irender, and I think one more that I can't remember. I got rid of them all except for Kerkythea. They all had something that was particularly good about them, one was fast, another let you do lots of work in Sketchup which made texturing easier, one had advanced texturing capabilities but was very slow - but Kerkythea has the best of all worlds as far as free renderers go, so it didn't make sense to concentrate on more than one renderer.
I'm sure folks with paid-for render apps like Vray and Maxwell will have different reasons.

RE: This is what all 3D appz should be like
Absolutely stunning. Thanks for the information.
Is there any way to get around using XSI? I don't have that.
