Has anyone developed a method to export Sketchup layers, along with the 2D tab view to AutoCad? On Youtube, there is a method that uses colors of objects, but it is still time consuming and one must still redefine the layers in AutoCad. An application that would directly export the layer structure would be wonderful.

Export Layers to AutoCad

RE: SketchUp7 updated install looking for .msi file
I have a similar problem. SketchUp 7 has been crashing on the first load of the day. It seems to work fine on the second and subsequent loads. It also occasionally crashes with the Ctrl key down. So I went to "Add and Remove Programs" to do a repair. The repair process stopped when it couldn't find googlesketchup7.msi. I searched my computer and couldn't find that file anywhere. Can you tell me where to find it?

RE: [request] cad layer export
Did you ever get a response to this question? I, too would like to export sections with the layers intact to either a dwg or dxf file.

My ongoing Wishlist
I'm going to use this topic space to keep an ongoing wishlist as I use Sketchup. I now start every design project in my office with Sketchup and I want to be able to use it for construction documents instead of switching over to AutoCad.
My wishes are:
- That Layout gets refined enough to use for a construction documents tool, similar to Paper Space in AutoCad. A better tutorial would be a good start.
- That the cross section tool gets improved with an eye toward construction documents.
- For a Workstation version of SketchUp that better supports high end video cards, multiple core processors and a native 64 bit operating system.
- That the engineers at Google talk to the engineers at Nvidia and solve the black screen-Fast Feedback crash problem.
- More to come................

RE: So what's in 6.4.112?
I successfully downloaded and installed the update and loaded a 6 meg model. It does seem faster and a little smoother, but the awful black screen-fast feedback problem is still there when I tried turning on Fast Feedback. I wish you would fix that or work with Nvidia engineers to help them fix their drivers.
