Cheers. There is no real interior light. The house is set to not create shadows and the sun is set behind the house. The 'shadows' on the balcony are drawn in with a slightly modified version of the same material. Possibly pointless but fun to create.

From the 'I should really be working' file
Playing around with night images without rendering. Really, there is some work I should be doing.

House and garden
No render, no background, just a raw SU image but, well I enjoy this kind of thing and it makes my clients happy.

RE: Render program test
I've added some PS work to try and give it some life. Still not totally happy but it's getting there. Wish the 'glass' setting in shaderlight didn't turn my semi-frameless pool fence black though.

Render program test
I have been going through a a couple of programs trying to work out which works for me given what I make models of, how I tend to do the modeling and what I am after as a result.
Anyway, this is with Shaderlight - it is kind of cool. I haven't put a background on it and haven't run it through photoshop at all. I didn't do the cushions myself as I am lazy.
If anyone has any suggestions about rendering landscapes and outdoor scens I'd love to hear them.

RE: First (last?) go at rendering something
Thanks guys - I'll have a go at doing something else - I'll trial one of those from the list above and see what happens

RE: First (last?) go at rendering something
Thanks. I appreciate the links. I did this when I was teaching myself SU and was trying to find out if rendering was something I wanted/needed to use. I will have a look at the links you have posted.
I guess the reason why I don't really render things is because what is important for my work is the walk-though aspect of SU which, I think, you cant really do it on. It is kind of fun creting cool looking things just for the sake of it though.
This one is with SU and photoshop. This is a really nice old building I was doing a landscape design for when I was studying and I got kind of distracted and put this together.

First (last?) go at rendering something
Did this a while ago - first, and possibly last, attempt to render something that I had drawn purely for the fun of doing it. Drawn on SU with a render from a free trial of IRender. Plenty of mistakes but happy enough with the result
