    • Help! Interior scenes - lights too bright or room too dark

I've been having some issues for a long time with interior scenes and finally thought it was time to ask on here for your advice on interior lighting. I find it impossible to achieve good overall lighting without having VRAY lights burning out.

      See these two attached examples.
      Lights in Scene:

Strip light: VRay Rectangle Light (intensity 20 (scalar))
      Pool Lights: 2 X IES (power 50,000)

The first is rendered with the following:

      Shutter Speed: 20
      F Number: 8
      Film ISO: 100

      Too dark

This image has nice lighting, but the overall image is too dark.

The second is rendered with the following:

      Shutter Speed: 20
      F Number: 8
      Film ISO: 400

      Too light

The overall lighting is much better but the lights are burnt out.

How do I achieve balance! Look forward to advice from you guys!

      Thanks,

      Dingo Bruce.

    • Blingcrete Render?

Anyone ever attempted to render some BLINGCRETE? It's light reflecting concrete with lots of small glass beads embedded in the surface that reflect light in the same way that cat's eyes reflect light on the road. The material looks amazing!

I've tried but failed miserably to do some 😞

    • RE: Problem with emissive materials under VRay :

In settings go to Irradiance map and up the subdivs. They are usually set around 50, try upping to around 200-300 and it should fix the blotchy light problem you have. πŸ‘
