    • RE: Rendering Workshop - Studio - still life

      Hi Guys

Forgive my ignorance but I am completely lost here - I am starting from level -10 and I do not see the relationship between a black and white image (HDR ) with different levels of luminance coming off the squashed cubes and the picture of the plate. You then talk about omni lights - what is the connection? I am lost - its me guys not you. Can you point me in the direction of an article / book on this subject as I dont want to waste your time asking really infantile questions from masters like you (SOLO, etc) I will then come back and break your hearts with more educated infantile questions!!!

    • RE: Dental Moulding Problem

Cheers guys - i went ahead and did the array method on my own - but only copied the face as i didnt want the line showing at the back of the tooth. It took a while but not as long as I thought to push pull all the teeth. I will post the model when I feel it is up to the required standard for you all to have a critique at it!

    • Dental Moulding Problem

      Guys

DOing a very big model of a high end kitchen and want to do a dental moulding just below the cornice and was wondering is there a quick way of doing a push pull on it to speed it up - Its taking ages and I know there is a quick way round it.

      Cheers

That extension is pure class - love the sliding glass wall - I did a kitchen last year in a house which had that feature - makes all the difference to the overall design of the space - brings the outside in completely.

Love the look of the new building - one question (off topic -apologies) I always wonder though is how architects like you see the building in the future. The cedar cladding of buildings has become very popular over here in the UK/Ireland in the last 5 years or so but I sometimes think that the designers forget that the colour changes dramatically in ths product over time from an orangey hue to that of silver which gives the building a completely different dynamic and look. Maybe the visuals should show the two stages of the cedar cladding?

Nice renders - i like them all - some of the technical criticisms go way over my head and I mean way over!!!

    • RE: [WIP] house - C&C

Just spotted another wee error on the model - the extractor hood is way too low to be practical - need at least 600mm between the top of the cooking surface and the bottom of the extractor to give a workable height for moving pots & pans easily. Sorry to criticise

not a fan of the mirror on the island showback - understand why you would use it though.

Don't like the colour of the worktop - would be better using a colour similar to your cabinet doors in a kitchen style like that.

All the other aspects of the render are spot on in my very "un-render-educated" opinion. I would be very pleased if I could produce something half as good as that.

    • RE: Quick and dirty clay renders

Love the clarity of the clay render - it produces a "truthful" image if you understand what I mean!

That looks like a prime candidate for an exterior / interior render in the future with those big sun rooms

Looks fantastic - I really love this mixture of styles - I want to achieve this sort of look from Piranesi

I aspire to this level of rendering.

    • RE: Re: Some Funny Pics.

I thought it might have been bankers spending some of their recent bonuses - the wine was $5000 each and they had 7 bottles in total so it wasn't too bad!!!!!

In my opinion anyone who spends that sort of money on wine is a W***** and yes it does rhyme with banker!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I have dynalog and use it for positioning runners and hinges on bespoke cabinets with internal drawers etc. Never knew you could export to autocad - thanks for the heads up. Dont think I will ever need to model to that level of detail on the inside of a cabinet however!!!
