With the preliminary election results posted I have seen the first photography of the Sudan Sentinel Project in the press. (kind of buried considering all that is occurring in Tunisia and Egypt. For those following this thread here is a good place to help keep track of the overall picture. http://allafrica.com/

There are obviously many different fitness regimes...the important thing is to end up with buffed body, a clear, lucid, razor sharp mind and the ability to fell an adversery, if necessary, with a lightning fast, spinning kick to the jaw. My program generally goes some thing like this: Yesterday for example I woke at 10.30am [damn garbage truck]...lit my first Camel for the day and while waiting for the coffee to boil finished the dregs from the cask of red along with some cold left over Prawn and Garlic Pizza [seafood is very important in my diet] I walked to the letter box and back [heavy, forced breathing]...scoffed a couple of Alkaseltsas, poured myself a stiff Scotch to clear the mind and got down to work. At midday I jumped in the car drove down to Mackas for a couple of kingsize double cheese burgers with a family serve of chips and picked up a six pack of Fosters on the way back to wash lunch down. Did a a bit of work but realized I needed some well earned rest so flaked out on the vibrating bed [good for circulation]. Woken about 8 that night by the dog licking my face. I realised my consumption of red wine [good for the heart] for the day was way down so sprinted the 25 metres to th local pub and got the usual 4 litre cask of plonk and by the time I got back home my regular Pizza delivery had just arrived. After I finished the Pizzas I realised I had forgotten to get a couple of packs of smokes for the night so it was back to the pub [walking this time...more heavy breathing]. So I settled down in front of the TV for the night and finally hit the vibrating bed about 1 AM...the wine had run out anyway. Im going to be so fit I'll be dangerous!!!

Nothing to be sorry about there Dylan, there has to a winner and a loser in every contest. Sometimes you're the matador and sometimes you're the bull.

LOL! Well today's training was all Qi Gong and speed drills...no heavy kicking. Alan - I also find that starting the day with breathing exercises sets a very good foundation. And like many things, I agree that they are almost completely in the mind first. Mental imagery is extremely important regardless of what activity. Susan - What? You wouldn't want to sit in a closed door meeting with a sweaty, bloody person for a few hours? Yes, there is a shower here...which is good. Many folks in this office ride bicycles in the canyons at lunch and they come back pretty sweaty! Eric - yeah, I guess that's not too helpful, but it is a snapshot of my days. I will look up some more helpful topics and post them when I have time. This is really only a tiny set of training activities that I do, however it's about all I have time for during the busy work day. I will add to this thread as I get a good routine going...I have a jump rope training routine that is a bit easier for others to adopt, so I'll post that when I get some time. The main thing I find is to be creative and more naturally. I am not a big fan of machines that limit one's range of motion. Stay active everyone! ...as they say, use it or lose it! Wink Cheers, CraigD

@unknownuser said: @passuby said: I am going too order this too. Is there any other books anyone else would recommend? The books by Bonnie Roskes are very good http://www.f1help.biz/ccp51/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F8241477&rnd=6654062&rrc=N&affl=&cip=212.56.70.117&act=&aff=&pg=cat&ref=SU And several by Insitebuilders http://insitebuilders.com/training.htm The insite builders' books are pretty neat. very informative as well. I love Bonnie's books as well, but sometimes it's like reading stereo instructions . Dang engineers...

Hi Jeff, yeah I agree. There is a time and a place for trying out the limits of your machine, and obviously the racetrack/autocross track is the right place. I feel that training and experience are the key to understanding the risks, and knowing the skills of control. I also think that the U.S. license training classes are terrible, and that access to fast cars/bikes should be based on training and experience. Giving a 17 year old kid with no training a WRX (or fast bike/other fast car) is a big, big mistake. It's very bad in the motorcycle community because access to wicked fast bikes is as easy as getting some money together. I've heard of motorcycle dealerships talking kids out of buying the fastest bike and getting them onto something appropriate for a beginner and I applaud those folks. Unfortunatelly, more often they just take the money and deny the reality of the risk. I do really enjoy modifying my machines, and I do really enjoy roadracing my racebike. There are a lot of great kids at the track, and it's really a fantastic family environment that keeps kids out of trouble. That's the environment that really makes me smile. It just seems that great parents make great kids, and too many parents just deny the risks and "hope for the best"... That's not what my folks did, and for that I'm glad! Stay safe, avoid the ones who aren't, and make great models!! Cheers, - CraigD
