RE: SubD examples and models

Nice! That actually looks like a nice model to test OpenSubdiv UV mapping handling with. Do you mind sharing the model?
Of course no problem...

I get this problem even on upscaled items from time to time too. It's always with two curved faces intersecting.
If you don't care where and how the curved faces intersect, there might be very small edge segments in the result and that problem isn't depending on the scale of the model.

RE: Micro-Geometry Errors..Am I alone?
You should work at a larger scale.

RE: Sketchup crashes upon start.
Have you tried to reboot the laptop?

Another option, depending on the finished result you are after.
Use a texture instead of the geometry and apply it to a U-shaped face.

RE: Import model axis wrong
You should upload the 3ds file instead so that we can try the import too.

RE: Push-Pull face not on axis
Maybe this can be an alternative to construct those pushpulls?

-
RE: Push-Pull face not on axis
You won't be able to push those faces because of these angles...
But you can joint push pull the bottom part:
and erase the front faces, draw some connecting edges from top to bottom to fill the hole...
Just out of interest: how did you create the arch to get that many hidden edges?

RE: Searching for an extension "Follow Me and Keep"
I would recommend UprightExtruder (Eneroth):
http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=ene_uprightExtruder_v1.2.0but you will find FAK (Wikii) in the PluginStore too:

RE: Purge unused materials
Just to make sure: you have to delete Lisanne in the model space AND the component window to make her disappear completely and to be able to purge the colors...

RE: Which Remote Desktop App?
Remote Desktop from Windows should work too without the need of another software.

RE: Forest Watchtower
Nice!
Now put in some forest fire to give it a warm and shiny look
