      Ok,
I’m “persisting in some sort of ludicrous obscurantism”… 😆

Remus wrote: “Science is all about testing theories to see if they’re right.”

Can you, guys, verify for example Alan’s “4.5 billion years”?!! 😉

This implicates that ‘Evolution Theory’ is an imaginated story… Only "it is an idea" !

      Stinkie,
To believefor example in those millions y. or billions y., you have to have a HUGE FAITH.
Can you verify them? Which Laboratory will take that responsibility?!
Besides that, almost all theories were continuously changeable…!

Do you know a verse like Luke 19:40?:
“And he (Jesus) answered and said, I tell you that, if these shall hold their peace, the stones will cry out.”
“Stones” (the Archeology, for example) are more eloquent than ‘words’!

Can you give me the path of it? 🎉

      Alan,
I know those hypothesis and many…, and many…
I’m not at a ‘starting point’! I did study ‘libraries’…, about suppositions, theories, etc.

Yor are right, the Earth was formed “according to a timescale”, but correct periods are those exposed in the Bible (Genesis).
I’m not so religious to believe every ideea, even it is written in ‘uppercase’ or trumpeted in the name of Science.

      Solo,
      Those were your words:
“You believe in the whole Noah story right? a 900 year old man collects two of every animal and stores it on his boat and weathers out a flood right?"

      …mentioning GREAT FLOOD TIME.

Noah was 600 y. old in that time.

      Solo,
      Noah was yunger: 600 y. instead of 900 y. (see Gen. 7:6).

      Re. dimensions of the ark:
“And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.” (Gen. 6:15)
As you can see, its proportions were ideal established, like ultra-modern safe vessels.

Calculating its volume you will be surprised that it was a roomy ‘invention’, large enough for all basic pairs of young animal kingdom, “all in whose nostrils was the breath of life”. Because of that space, some animals were allowed to be seven pairs, not just one… (see Gen. 7:2-3)

      Alan,

In originals, the same word used for “DAY”, means “PERIOD”
      God is atemporal:
“But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Peter 3:8)

The Bible was written by humans, but it was inspired (some portions even were dictated) by God.

Re. Evolution museums: Go on the street, (for example in Ney York, Chicago, etc.) and you will find (if you have ‘imagination’) a lot of faces and bodies that can be 'combined' in a 'slide-presentation'…! 😲

      Sepo,
      per your request
      Two examples from Mattew 27:

“Then was fulfilled that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying: “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was priced, whom certain of the children of Israel did price”” (v.9)

“And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: “They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.”” (v.35)

In The Bible, there are more than 330 such detailed propheties about only one Person. Can you CALCULATE what is THAT PROBABILITY?!!! 😮

      Sepo,
Re. your question: “How do you decide which prophet was real and which was not?”

If prophetic announcements are fulfill they are true (real).

If there is a ‘collection’ of many, and majorities of them are already exactly (on detail) fulfilled, a few remained propheties can be considered as true.

      Alan,
Creationists use God’s Word as reference, because only God is absolut!

Re Alan’s ideea: “There's no such thing as "reality".”

There is “such thing”, because there were/are a lot of FALSE (and 'speculative'...) scientists, teachers, prophets, etc.

      Look in the History! 😮

Majorities of REAL (“prudent”) scientists were devoted christians,
and “thousands upon thousands have died... over the past 2000 years. Thousands continue to die.”, “standing on the side of reality”.

      Are we “prudents”?!! 🎉

      "Scientific"?! Cognizant?! ☀

      See Romans 11:33 (two translations):
“Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand His decisions and His ways!”

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!”

    • RE: I Believe (to address the complaints of last week)

      J.V.S.,

Here are a few direct verses (there are many others):

“I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30)

“Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.” (John14:9-11)
