RE: Rendering
I have actually been looking into rendering for the first time and checked out podium and kerkythia. I have come to find out that I'm not going to be able to make a sketchup model and click render to make it look alot better right? lol Are you supposed to only use textures that are renderable? for instance..the generic bamboo(wood) material that comes with sketchup cannot be rendered?

RE: [Request]Food
Thank you so much for the help and direction wyatt and cheffey. I browsed formfonts.com but I cannot find the the free stuff. They have some amazing models that I would love to have access to however I can't afford the $200/year as a student.

Do you have any prelim images of what this place will look like? that might help us help you find something better suited.
Sure. Here is an unfinished model of the place in context to the surrounding area, situated between 2 major bus stops. I really didn't know what to make it look like lol I was making it up as I went along. But it's not an architecture course so no worries. He just wanted it to "stand out".

RE: [Request]Food
That is a good idea thank you very much. When I download an image to use as a texture do you mean import it into sketchup as a jpeg? or is there actually a way to install it as a texture?

[Request]Food
Hey everyone.
I'm working on a project of providing accessible organic, locally grown produce in Rochester, NY. I'm implementing grocery stands at the major bus stops with a central, main hub at what in my personal experiences was the most populated area in terms of pedestrian traffic.
My professor wants to see an image of it populated with people buying groceries and stuff. Any idea on how I can do this (using sketchup alone). I couldn't find any good food models in the 3D warehouse, and also browsed some of the site links in the sticky post to no avail.
Thanks for any help!

good model,
one thing jumps right at me, i see a site plan, a bunch of staircases, but not a single ramp for a wheelchair. I am sorry, maybe i am missing something?I could be missing something. I have been building the model using aerial photographs and google earth's street view. There could be a ramp somewhere but not that I could see.

New here - couple questions
Hey everyone. I'll introduce myself first. I'm Chad. I'm an urban planning student and have recently started using sketchup. I'm grateful in that it makes my school work fun. Anyways...

Does anyone else have a problem with the program freezing? I'm working on a model now and the program honestly freezes at least once a minute...doesn't seem to freeze when i'm using the paint bucket tool tho. (????) It's annoying to have to ctrl+alt+delete after every rectangle I draw. Literally, it is that bad.

I've browsed the forum briefly and have absolutely no idea what the ruby console is. I started up sketchup to check it out and it looks like I have to know computer coding to use it? Can anyone help here?

I'll show my model I have been working on. It's a section of the city of Rochester, NY at E. Main Street and S. Clinton downtown. You can maps.live.com it for a birdseye if you want to compare. Any suggestions would be great!
