[Request]Food
-
Hey everyone.
I'm working on a project of providing accessible organic, locally grown produce in Rochester, NY. I'm implementing grocery stands at the major bus stops with a central, main hub at what in my personal experiences was the most populated area in terms of pedestrian traffic.
My professor wants to see an image of it populated with people buying groceries and stuff. Any idea on how I can do this (using sketchup alone). I couldn't find any good food models in the 3D warehouse, and also browsed some of the site links in the sticky post to no avail.
Thanks for any help!

How about a google image search for grocery and use it as a texture
this is the one I found on the first pagehttp://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:oPukXe3Bap2C-M:http://bandonhealthfoods.com/images/grocery3.jpg
This would keep the poly count low.

That is a good idea thank you very much. When I download an image to use as a texture do you mean import it into sketchup as a jpeg? or is there actually a way to install it as a texture?
-
You can import as a jpg, then explode it and sample it to use as a texture.
Do you have any prelim images of what this place will look like? that might help us help you find something better suited.

Sure. Here is an unfinished model of the place in context to the surrounding area, situated between 2 major bus stops. I really didn't know what to make it look like lol I was making it up as I went along. But it's not an architecture course so no worries. He just wanted it to "stand out".

FormFonts.com has great grocery-type models. There are a few free ones that may work for you, or you could subscribe and have access to lots of material.

Ok, so it's an interior space. I first thought it would be an outdoor thing.
Formfonts has a lot of high quality stuff, for interior.here is urgen's work. some of the best out there.

Thank you so much for the help and direction wyatt and cheffey. I browsed formfonts.com but I cannot find the the free stuff. They have some amazing models that I would love to have access to however I can't afford the $200/year as a student.

The free stuff they offer is in their exchange program i.e. if you sign up and contribute with your models / materials / styles etc., you can download from others' contribution in this program (not the commercial stuff afaik though).
