RE: V-Ray 1.6 beta and previous version
Thanks for your quick reply dkendig.
Well, I won't be installing v-ray 1.6 beta, do not want to mess up my settings, and I read that some folks have problems with proxy (I have been waiting for this a long time), so I guess I will go back to THEA. -
V-Ray 1.6 beta and previous version
Hey all, so I have a question: if I install v-ray 1.6 beta on my PC where I have my v-ray 1.49 installed will I still be able to use my 1.49? Or do I have to uninstall my 1.49 version before I install 1.6 beta?
cheers and thanks in advance -
RE: Apple office
@ chedda: thanks for your input and yes, I do agree with you on an artificial lighting in the scene. I'm still working on it and I'm trying to improve it, will post as soon as I'll be satisfied with it.
@ Bryan K: it's not a photo match, I used hdri image in vray and played with angles H/V to get it right.
@ jerisamui: thanks for the help

Apple office
The desk and tables are based on apple's ipad and iphone design. The couch is a free model provided by (forgot who). Rendered in vray 2400x1270px, 45min., used a second pass with AO only, some pp in ps. I'm still struggling with better quality of shadows (chairs at the big table). C&C welcome.
If any one has an idea of how to set up shadows to show them better, please talk to me or maybe should I just do them in ps?

Kitchen with a big island.
A few weeks ago I've seen a kitchen in some magazine. From what I had remembered I modeled it. SketchUp, Vray, PS. Hope you like it.

Thanks for the CC and nice comments always good to hear them and never enough. I agree, the colours are a buzz killer, maybe that is the whole idea behind it

Dental office
This one was for a client, he chose the colours, poster and even the chair will be all grey
Modeled the room, cabinets, floor, doors and window. All chairs are free models. Rendered in vray and some pp in PS.

RE: Flower Hill: apartment buildings
Did an extra pass with "ao" only in vray and some pp work in PS. Looks much better than the first one I did.

RE: Flower Hill: apartment buildings
I did just a small amount of PP, I still have to run one more pass in vray with AO only. Once I do that I will do more PP work and it should look better.
Thanks for your CC chedda.

RE: Bathroom with a killer view - concept
@john2 said:
so serene and calm bathroom!! are you an architect or interior designer or both?
I believe that a view, colours and simplicity make the bathroom so calm and serene yes, I'm both plus a phtoographer, web designer, graphic artist, concept designer and so much more... and it's all in one, in me

RE: Shadows are missing-some (not all)
Could not get proper shadows while rendering and I had some technical difficulties. So I decided go the other way and turned off some layers, left the hill and the trees on, all on white material with shadows on, edges and profiles off, exported as png with same resolution as my vray renderings (this was small and fast test run). Layered in PS and did some digital darkroom work, and done.
QUESTION:
How can I better control shadows in vray?cheers

Shadows are missing-some (not all)
Hi, not sure what is going on but my tree shadows are not showing. As you can see flowers do cast a shadow but the tree that is behinde the hill, it does not cast a shadow, any idea why?
