      To all,

Just downloaded SU Pro 2014, installation was swift without any problems, o.k. so far. However some of my extension that I've become reliant on for work, has flagged up as "INCOMPATIBLE" on my extension warehouse, these are:-

      1001 BIT TOOLS
      2014 DIBAC
      LAYER MANAGER
      PROJECTION & GUIDE TOOL

I've therefore reverted back to SU Pro 2103 in the meantime.

As for SU Pro 2014, I'm not too sure what everyone was expecting, but the upgrade list seems a tad light to me... πŸ˜’

I would have thought as there's so many extensions available, some would have made it into SU as hard wired. Perhaps an idea would be that SU HQ could offer an incentive for extension writer "GURUS" as a sort of cash prise for voted good ones to be included in future upgrades.

I think these would have to be improved utility ones, as this would assist all SU users. For me, I just can't live without "LAYER MANAGER"...... so back to SU Pro 2013.

      Over & out,
      Clayton.

O.k; perhaps still too soon I guess.

I reckon some good extensions though may be swallowed up into SU 2014. These fortunate extension inventors should be quids-in.... 😎

    • SketchUP Pro 2014...whats new anyone..??

      To all,

I was wondering if anyone in the know had a list of what's going to be new in SU Pro 2014.

One wish I have is to make it run faster or at least run to the max on my 64-bit PC. I gather SU is still only written in 32-bit, therefore would 64 bit make it......Fly & something included in SU Pro 2014..... ❓

Panic over, all now installed & working o.k. 😍

Most of the first set of settings on the menu with regards to hatch/fill types can be figured out. However the fill names won't mean anything until a few experiments & perhaps re-name to ones own personal library, although all can be seen in the materials SU menu & edited/renamed from this location.

I'll have to have another look a the vid's for other menu settings....I'll have to also look out for a help file, I'm sure there's one somewhere..!!!

In conclusion, this extension is great & will help me ton's with building plans & sections. πŸ‘ Another obvious missing tool that SU HQ should have in the box. ❗

      To all,

Having some problems installing this extension & getting it to work for some reason, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Question, as I'm using SU Pro 2013, I see the Plugin rbz file seems to be a non zipped file. Is it a case of just downloading this file to your PC to a folder of choice & then use the SU pull down menu "window" then "preferences" then install extension..??

I also see the zipped SU file 2008 version has another folder inside called recourses & two other files, .rbs & .rb. I assume these are the hatch pattern fills..?? So are there any fills for the SU Pro 2013 .rbz file..??

    • RE: [Plugin] 2D Tools

      Help to anyone,

This tool will be a life saver, however for some reason it won't let me install it. I get an the error message below:-

      Permission denied - C:/Program Files (x86)/SketchUp/SketchUp 2013/Plugins/2Dtools/2Dtidied.txt
      Error Loading File 2D#.rb
      Permission denied - C:/Program Files (x86)/SketchUp/SketchUp 2013/Plugins/2Dtools/2Dtidied.txt

Not had anything like this before on any extensions, what gives with this extension...

I wish this extension was available through SketchUP's own Extension Warehouse, I might get it loaded that way.

Not too sure if this is related to the SKETCHUCATION PLUGIN STORE V2.0 as having some problems with that as well...

When I click on the blue icon (SKETCHUCATION PLUGINS MANAGER) I get error message saying "no security permission to manage any plugins folder in the $LOAD_PATH. FULL Read/write Permissions are needed to manage Plugins within this Plugins Folders.."

Just not my day I guess.. 😞

Any help will be most appreciated.

    • RE: SketchUp 2013 ;)

      To all,

Just purchased SketchUP Pro 2013 upgrade from my SU Pro ver.8. However as others have pointed out, my Profile Builder plug-in or should I say extension, is not showing any profile images in the PB interface, so is now useless...H'mmm πŸ˜’

I can't find any new SU videos showing the what's new SU-2013 stuff, so will have to make do with the SU "what's New" webpage instead.... 😒 see link below:-

      http://www.sketchup.com/products/sketchup-pro/new-in-2013

The new Extension page or Plug-in page is o.k; & if your main use of SketchUP is Architecture, I found a great plug-in, see link below:-

    • SU 9..wish list

      To all,

πŸ˜• I've moved this post from SU discussion.
Heck too many places to put stuff πŸ˜•

Being a newbie to this forum I'm not too sure if this is the right place to say what one would like to see in SU-9, but here goes anyway.

Being a self employed architectural consultant in the uk, earning a "crust" is half the battle given the current climate. I use DataCAD ver-14 for most paying work & SU if I've got time to show boat the plans a bit in 3D, as 3D in DataCAD is just plain painful for me. Anyway there was a recent post on the DC forum about SU being able to produce construction type plans. I sort of thought about it & thought maybe, but most others on the DC forum that replied said no way.

I can see why, as SU has always maintained it was not meant to be CAD software. However I've seen some quite brilliant hybid type building details & floor plans & elevations, so it seems to be getting better for the architectural arena. I therefore was wondering if SU-9 would make this task easier & more possible with some in house architectural tools like bonzai3d, just a thought.
