Just some words of caution: IF you are unable to widen the ramp surface to extend under the ballustrade sufficiently, a sharp eyed inspector may say you need some kind of "kickboard" or curb for compliance. This might be related to use of a cane or crutches and the likelihood of these slipping off the ramp surface. Then again, this may not be a problem in your particular case. Excessive rail extension at the bottom of the ramp can also be a hazard under some circumstances.

Hi Gigi, Please, make sure that you enable browser cookies first of all. If you use Internet Explorer, also make sure that your privacy/security settings for Internet browsing are not set too high (as in such cases IE refuses cookies). Also see if your firewall or virus software (like Norton) is blocking SCF for some reason. If you still have problems with logging in, please, have a look at this topic and make sure you clear (delete) your forums.sketchucation.com (or in fact any sketchucation related) cookies in your browser. Try to log in then. Let me know if you still have problems. If you cannot answer here, when logged out, use that "problems..." link Mitcorb suggested to send me an email.

@wo3dan said: You can import different file types (*.jpg *.png etc.) in various ways, i.e. as image, as texture on an existing face and as ‘New Matched Photo’. The latter to re-create 3D shapes (like buildings) from a flat photo with the right perspective information in it.........On the same page you will find the Weld.rb ruby script, also very useful Wow, this is really useful stuff! I thought I'd seen all of the tutorial videos, but I guess there are some I haven't. Or maybe one just has to learn some things with time and experience -- like anything else. This information is very useful to me, Gerrit, and I thank you very much for your knowledge, and for taking the time to explain it to me! Things are buzzing along smoothly now, and I hope I won't have any other issues. But if I do, I will be sure to come back to ask! Gigi

Gigi, have you found the animation options? Via Window > Model info > animation you can set how long it takes to go from one scene to another, and whether the camera should pause at each scene. Then when you export, be sure to click 'options'. Here you can un-check the box for 'loop to start', if you'd like.

No, Gaieus, I haven't downloaded it yet, although I plan to. Time and other worries are not the reason, but an overloaded hard drive is. I have an external drive, but my HD is so full that it won't recognize it! My computer guru has me putting all my photos onto DVD's, so that I can clear up enough space. Otherwise my external HD won't do me much good. Thanks for the compliment! And the good wishes. Gigi

So sorry, James, I wanted to come back to thank you for your answer. Instead, I went straight over to SU to try it out, and you were entirely correct and I was able to make my sloped site, of course, but instead of thanking you I did the work and haven't come up for air until now. I swear, I start playing with SU from the moment I get up, and I fall asleep next to it on the couch. I'm an addict. And that's the only excuse I can offer for my apparent lack of social skills. I do THANK YOU, however! Learning new stuff all the time! Woohoo! Gigi

Hi Gigi, hi folks. Sorry for the text being cut off. I made that tutorial on an 19 inches monitor and, if viewed on anything smaller, it may produce that result. Simply zoom out to get the whole picture. You may also pan if required. This tutorial is simply a SKP model using Scenes. Use the Scenes tab on top of the model window one by one and in numerical order in order to follow the development of the modeling. When you have an inference that suits you, remember to press and hold the SHIFT key to lock it. While still maintaining the SHIFT key down you can continue with the drawing operation (line drawing for example). For a parallel line, you use these steps: 1 - Find the starting point with the inference from the center of a circle. 2 - Click on the center to start the line. 3 - Place the cursor over a line that you would like to be parallel to. Wait for the pop-up stating "On edge". 4 - Place the cursor in such a way that you get a line attached to the staring point already defined and in a direction roughly parallel to the line inferenced at step 3. Wait for the magenta inference and the pop-up. 5 - Press and hold the SHIFT key to lock the inference. 6 - Move the cursor along the required direction and for the required length. Use the VCB, if required to specify the exact length. 7 - Click to set the end of the line. 8 - Release the SHIFT key. Just ideas.

Yes, it's supposed to be the back of the faucet. I haven't gotten to the actual spout, yet. Went back to play with my banister in another drawing. Yeah, the couch came out pretty well, didn't it? I couldn't figure out how to get it going 'round in two directions, so I used only one-half of the cushion, and did two halves, and then joined them together. Worked out well. Thanks for your great tip! Will serve me well in the future! Gigi @chris fullmer said: Oh good. So its really a sink faucet head or something? It doesnt look half bad at the XL scale as a big block cushion chair/couch thing.

Yeah, Gai, I had done a Ctrl-A and then thought I was hitting Ctrl-V instead of the Ctrl-C I meant to hit. Just a dumb accident. I haven't tried doing Ctrl-Z to see if I can back out of it, but if it happens again, I'll sure give it a try! Thanks! Gigi
