Thank you Box... I'm deeply appreciative.
It's already installed and working just fine.
You've saved me a bunch grief and aggravation.
Thanx again,
Bob

My laptop (and external drive) went missing over the holidays. My previous laptop was only good to SU07. Is there anyplace I can acquire an installation file for 8.
I've a ton of hobby related models in the 8 format and I'm reluctant to open/save them in 13 if I can avoid it.
Thanx,
Bob
Trainboy,
Have you looked at MS Train Simulator? You might enjoy it.
Have a sparkling week-end, Bob
Hi Pkast,
Thanx for the input. Iâm still at it, but nothing has âstruck my fancyâ yet. The current batch of end results tend to be washed out. Or if colorful enough, they are âdryâ looking. I tried a few via Akvis Sketch (trial) software. But they also lacked the desired âsoft wet-ishâ color blend look that appears in Rossâs image.
Still experimenting⌠Thanx,
Bob
Ross,
I agree. I dare say your example is about as close to the real thing as one could get. Iâve tried literally âcountlessâ times to achieve a similar end result⌠but to no avail. I imagine I need to find another âeffectsâ routine. I canât seem to achieve the subtle color blends, soft lines and semi-wet look that are seen in watercolor prints.
I appreciate your input. Have a stunning evening,
Bob
New and improved (me thinx).
Additional stepsâŚ
Early was to render in KT07, last was to run back thru Adobe Elements and /Enhance/Unsharp Mask.
I messed with 'edges' but couldn't find one that appealed to me.
Have a sparkling week-end,
Bob
Remus⌠agreed, thanx
Tina Anne⌠Yes, I saw one of yours with the (I believe) âpencilâ line. I downloaded the style, but could not get it to install. However, just yesterday I spotted something in the âStyleâ forum regarding same. Iâm on my way there now.
Thanx for the input, have a sparkling evening,
Bob
Good Evening Forum,
For a few weeks I have been (âon and offâ) messing around with watercolor images. Tonight I hit on a technique that produced what I found a pleasing image.
The paper texture is from SU, the model generated in SU. The 2D SU image was run through Adobe Elements 5.0 for the watercolor effect. Then through MS Digital image Pro 10 for transparency (15%) and color level fix (auto). The paper texture (a screenshot) was also run through MS Digital for shadow and light adjustments. Then both images were merged for the final effect. I wish I had added more background now.
Any thoughts?
Have a sparkling evening,
Bob

...i reckon it could do with a bit less thickness. seems youve got the transparency and texturing pretty spot on thoguh.
Thanx. Yeah, the thickness is a bit much. The apparent force of water would probably 'take out' the pool
Have a sparkling day.
Bob
I thought this might be a fun challenge. Unfortunately my end product looks like a BBQ gone wild.
Could use more 'splash' at the pool.
Have a sparkling week,
Bob
I thought the Kerkythea Chrome texture was very nice.
Have a sparkling day,

Gai,
Thanx so much... I'll loo0k in to it later today and let you know the result.
Again... Thanx,
Bob

A friend is creating stunning automobile models in "XSI Mod Tool". He then, with a function of 'XSI', reduces the poly count dramatically so he can (via a third party utility) import his model into a 'sim' that he enjoys.
I would like to do the same with some high poly count models that I've created in SU. I've searched the net, but have failed to turn up an SU script that will do this.
Anyone have a clue??
Thanx, Bob

Thanx Ross,
Still very much a WIP. The Volvo tends to be an âaeroâ design. So a lot of your âPeterbilt/Kenworthâ type details (air horns, grab-bars, air cleaners, chrome plated âanythingâ) are generally not typical to the 770 model. However I do plan to detail the model (sleeper windows, doors, door latches, lights, wipers, etc). as well as getting it a tad closer to an actual Volvo appearance.
Meanwhile⌠here is a recent (last night) WIP render. Thanx again.
Bob

Thanx Eric,
Progressing nicely, although not accurately. That is to say I'm doing this model using the "Mark I Eyeball" only. It's more an exercise in compound curves than anything else. In fact the 'flat' planes are almost non-existent. The back of the sleeper, some areas around the 'cat-walk' and naturally the chassis rails.
As you can see there is still a bit to go. BTW, the front fenders are not complete, nor properly scaled.
Anyway... thought y'all might get a kick out of it. Have a sparkling evening.
Bob
Hi folks. New to the forum⌠but have been SUâing for quite a while. Mostly âSimâ structures.
However, I finally decided to tackle something difficult. Well, it took several attempts but I finally managed to get all the curved parts of this model to meet (without gaping holes).
Anyway, thought some of you might enjoy the WIP.
Have a sparkling day,
Bob
