    • RE: SU08...

Thank you Box... I'm deeply appreciative.
It's already installed and working just fine.
You've saved me a bunch grief and aggravation.

      Thanx again,
      Bob

    • SU08...

My laptop (and external drive) went missing over the holidays. My previous laptop was only good to SU07. Is there anyplace I can acquire an installation file for 8.

I've a ton of hobby related models in the 8 format and I'm reluctant to open/save them in 13 if I can avoid it.

      Thanx,
      Bob

      Trainboy,

Have you looked at MS Train Simulator? You might enjoy it.

      Hi Pkast,

Thanx for the input. I’m still at it, but nothing has ‘struck my fancy’ yet. The current batch of end results tend to be washed out. Or if colorful enough, they are “dry” looking. I tried a few via Akvis Sketch (trial) software. But they also lacked the desired ‘soft wet-ish’ color blend look that appears in Ross’s image.

      Still experimenting… Thanx,

      Bob

      Ross,

I agree. I dare say your example is about as close to the real thing as one could get. I’ve tried literally ‘countless’ times to achieve a similar end result… but to no avail. I imagine I need to find another ‘effects’ routine. I can’t seem to achieve the subtle color blends, soft lines and semi-wet look that are seen in watercolor prints.

I appreciate your input. Have a stunning evening,

      Bob

      New and improved (me thinx).

      Additional steps…
Early was to render in KT07, last was to run back thru Adobe Elements and /Enhance/Unsharp Mask.
I messed with 'edges' but couldn't find one that appealed to me.

      Have a sparkling week-end,

      Remus… agreed, thanx

Tina Anne… Yes, I saw one of yours with the (I believe) ‘pencil’ line. I downloaded the style, but could not get it to install. However, just yesterday I spotted something in the ‘Style’ forum regarding same. I’m on my way there now.

Thanx for the input, have a sparkling evening,

    • Watercolor...

      Good Evening Forum,

For a few weeks I have been (‘on and off’) messing around with watercolor images. Tonight I hit on a technique that produced what I found a pleasing image.

The paper texture is from SU, the model generated in SU. The 2D SU image was run through Adobe Elements 5.0 for the watercolor effect. Then through MS Digital image Pro 10 for transparency (15%) and color level fix (auto). The paper texture (a screenshot) was also run through MS Digital for shadow and light adjustments. Then both images were merged for the final effect. I wish I had added more background now.

      Any thoughts?

      Have a sparkling evening,
      Bob

...i reckon it could do with a bit less thickness. seems youve got the transparency and texturing pretty spot on thoguh.

Thanx. Yeah, the thickness is a bit much. The apparent force of water would probably 'take out' the pool 😮
      Have a sparkling day.

I thought this might be a fun challenge. Unfortunately my end product looks like a BBQ gone wild.
Could use more 'splash' at the pool.
      Have a sparkling week,
      Bob
