Balustrade components
i can't get the balustrade components to show up in the dialog box
Didier didn't actually mention where the components are picked up from...so it's either supersimple and i should just go to bed or grateful if anyone has had some success with this and could let me know...thanks

RE: Β½ PIPE ALONG PATH
no but seriously (insert seriously smiley) - all these geniuses... the @last folks came up with follow me, stamp and create mesh...great ideas, remember?
now i think the kindness and generosity of these masters has been beyond words.. ...very... grateful
..to have a 'driveby' plugin where you can lay a path on a terrain and have a profile follow it while keeping the car flat on the ground... wuooh (missing a smiley again)
...to see some of these sirs work together to such achievement... TIG, Didier, Hal Rick and all those others...perhaps we could organise a ruby base camp in a warm resort where they would work in leasure (while we make sure they don't just go surfing)
the labourer deserves his/her wages ...who would buy this tool?
-
RE: Β½ PIPE ALONG PATH
this is what SU has been lacking for too long a time.. lucky Erez made that little gem called simuterra..still it would be great to have a tool that combines extrude along path and follow me and....... stays put at the same time.
wouldn't mind paying if such a tool was conceived
come on folks let's get the collection going!

RE: Shortcuts Plugin Possible?
the CadFather strikes again!
EDIT: one more bug, if you go and enter a new (or the same) key for 'add scenes', 'update scenes' etc
it will overwrite your tweak - however it will work as long as once you have set it you leave it alone.and that is the end for tonight
-
RE: Shortcuts Plugin Possible?
that's right, @last folks must have forgotten to let google people know..
here's a ruby script that will tell you the proper name, you just have to write that over the unusable one.
-
RE: Shortcuts Plugin Possible?
got it - the problem is that it saves the key as 'add page'
instead we need it under 'View/Animation/Add Scene'i have added it to the registry manually (saved the key) now it works
what key do you normally use?
-
RE: Shortcuts Plugin Possible?
that's strange because it does on mine...i mean all the others..let me try with add scenes..
who knows maybe a bug
wow, just tried (twice) the add scene doen't work
mine is F12 i will try a different key -
RE: Shortcuts Plugin Possible?
..fantastic - i just went and tried it on a 'new' pc - it all worked..
and on my daughter's laptop! all my settings, cuts, rubys... everything........my sketchup portable
-
RE: Shortcuts Plugin Possible?
on my computer it was quite simple - everything worked, toolbars layouts and keyboard shortcuts.
(which differ much from google)i'm attaching 2 files cleaner and master. first back up the key (has to be this key and all inside) [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Google\SketchUp6] on your pc. (ex. dave.reg)
you can keep regedit open at the key > run cleaner.reg and you will see the key disappear.
if you open SU now you will see the interface go back to default..and...there is a new key in the registry called.. guess what? [Sketchup6]
now close SU and run cleaner.reg again > double click on the dave.reg key you saved before
and start SU.......

RE: Shortcuts Plugin Possible?
hi Dave
maybe it can help, take a look at the post su settings forever
dead linkall the shortcuts are also saved - tried it - it works (@Last)
sure it's not from a ruby - but i only need to click the registry file..

RE: REQUEST (perhaps needs another subsection?)
after 3 hours i realised i'm heading for an impossible task - of so many scripts, some are encripted.. the new ones with the dollar sign seem uneditable - went to smustard and other places but many i was sure were copyrighted are not listed anymore.. and it's 2am
ok will need more sinapses than i fired.....
-
REQUEST (perhaps needs another subsection?)
some of you might remember (or even used) a congregation of plugins called rubyset or rubymenu. it had been my attempt
to organise all those scripts into a neat looking plugin menu (see attachment). it started from a ruby Didier had written. subsequently i appropriated it and messed around with the code ( ) in the hope i could refresh my conscience and contribute a little to the generosity of the masters...in the last few months i slowly managed to recreate the rubyset for SU6 - my intention now is to edit the menus so that i can post it here without the gems for which i paid (didn't notice i made that mistake last year). it will take a bit as i will have to find out which ones are copyrighted etc..
anyway here's my request: suppose a ruby script (that works with xml or whatever..) and i could have a menu that can popup
and stay open, then drag and drop and move my plugins a la windows start menu....or anything else to sort those thing out!!
(nowadays when i right click, i need to turn the screen in portrait to view all the items)

RE: Make "saveas SU5" default in SU6...
hi Tom...this should be posted in the ruby forum... it was actually one of the many questions i never remember to ask. in my case i prefer modelling with 5 and just use 6 for sketch render or photomatch..
all i could think of (on a pc): ended up placing two shortcuts in my 'send to' menu (right click menu), v5 and v6 - i find that the easiest after google mixed it all up,,,,,

RE: New Ruby Scripts Depository forum
well Coen - i might be the cadfather but you are the boss...let's go for it!
-
RE: New Ruby Scripts Depository forum
yes.. well...it may not work after all...
i guess the main idea is that who want to post a script (new or newer), posts it here so that it is easier to keep track.
nobody wants to download jewel.rb v13.07 when 5 mins later v 13.78 is already out (those master are fast!)of course there are many other places - i remember Didier being the first to gather the treasure and going strong (great new look).. but for this forum (Coen is just beginning to realise!) a repository might protect the life span of our moderators.
anyway thanks to all - who knows when the SketchUcation 3D basecamp will be? (and that europe of course...)

RE: Scripy sticks?
hey Coen that's way fast!! chill out!
thanks Didier,
i think i did it right - did try a registry trick but it didn't work... and this business has been around so long... -
RE: Scripy sticks?
sure.. but really i'm looking for a response from the gurus of ruby - whether they think it's a good idea - some of them have websites etc
