      Modelhead,

When I started playing as a teen I had a kit with a similar "orange psycodelic" (sp) finish similar to this, except the scale was a lot smaller with little lt. purple and other swirlies - - but hey it was the 70's

great work - takes me back to the day.............. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

    • RE: Components and materials forum posts

While a "thank you" is nice - I don't get upset when the files are downloaded without one. I don't see the point of the "65 downloads and not thank you responses yet...........geessssh. I do check backas well to see if sombody had a problem with or a question about a component. I do so love to see renderings when people do use someone's components. I would prefer that over the thank you notes!

    • RE: A series...?

      Great Series Tom! ๐Ÿ‘

I really like the feel of these and the colors are wonderfull. The ony crit I would have is that in some of the images the shadows from the bare trees are a little overpowering, and take my attention away from the subject. I like the low angle of the sun - so maybe just save out the shadows for the trees as a seperate layer and play with the transparency in post? Not too much though as you don't want to lose the depth and contrast of these beautifull images!

    • RE: Sketchup to Kerkythea Renders

      Calvin,

Welcome to the board - nice to see a another interior designer here! ๐Ÿ˜„ You have a good eye - you should be a fine designer when you graduate. Your work does show a nice progression - Kerky's mlt does take a while, but the output is superb. What kind of lights are you using with Kerky?

    • RE: ..Country Club Interiors - Maxwell + SketchUp..

      Jason,

Really great work - all of it. Sorry the client issues - because they should definitely be telling you this!
Don't worry about the bake time - I think the grain adds to the effect. The linework balance is a delicate thing - you just have to play with it till it looks rightg to you. One other suggestion would be to export some shadows in one of your sketchup views so you can overlay them and add just a little more depth to the lower end(nomally darker areas)shadows. Maxweel seems to highlight nice depth at the higher end, but balances out the low end a little IMO.

      Thanks for the inspiration! โ˜€

Great stuff - I think you ended up in the right place! But is it safe to have a fire hydrant in a room with dogs? ๐Ÿ˜•

    • RE: WIP continues: comments please...

      Tom,

Really nice image ๐Ÿ‘ , but IMO the birds steal too much focus. Try exporting them seperately with a much looser/lighter style without the extension lines. The effect is really cool though - I would keep that in the memory bank for future use.

    • Variations on a Theme - Interior

Attempting some stylized alternatives for interior images. A Studio done in Kerky straight up, and 2 different npr type versions. The sepia tone doesn't show color - but I like the effect. Let me know what you think!

      Thanks,

    • RE: The verdict is in...

      Tom,

The compromise images are now my fav! ๐Ÿ‘ The only other suggestion is to scale the chair material for more repeat in the pattern - the blotches are a little too distracting in the WC'd images. Really nice stuff though - very effective for the space.

      Tom,

I prefer the last two as well.....maybe turn down the brightness just a little. But - the lass in the short skirt in 1 & 4 keeps grabbing my attention - so I can't be considered impartial โ—

    • Kerkythea Light Experiments

A studio scene with some recent model conversions as an exercise in testing / playing with lights / illuminants in Kerky. I think these offer a lot of flexibility over the standard omni / spot lights. Variations on this theme using different filters in post.
