EM,
Great images and even better modeling!
Very Nicely Detailed!
Thanks Gus
Kevin,
Please don't put yoursekf in the same group as rogue and green toaster. While their topic (cars, cars, and more cars) may not be of interest to me - there is actual "work in progress" being posted by both. Their designs might not all be original - but it is of very good quality, often with a high level of detail. And more importantly, they have manners and don't "bump" threads without actualy showing progress or new models.
I don't know that it warrants banning - but I sure wouldn't object to the mods locking threads like this that you start and then turn into personal attention therapy. I know some of us perpetuate this by not leaving you alone, but seriosuly - since the first 1% wip image, there have been 11 posts by you in this thread with 0 value added.

AL,
The FORMFRONTS stuff is great......but don't overlook the large collection here in the Components, Materials & Styles forum. Tons of great stuff hiding there - and it's already in SU format.

Two schematic images for a client to select a design direction for their corporate headquarters. Not my designs - just the modeling & rendering work. One contemporary, and one more traditional looking. Mixed SU output and Kerky renders - looking for some feedback on the "presentation style" of the images. Designer specifically asked for no site context at this stage.

Yes - Happy Thanksgiving Pete and the rest of this community!
On this American Holiday when we pause to reflect on what we are most thankfull for - I only had to look around the table at my family and friends there to celebrate this special day!

So far..........looks like
1- Layout 2 included
2- Style builder included
3- Dynamic Components - looks very cool, especially whem combined with cost attributes
A quick animation test indicates that the shadow bug is still there.

WoooHooo!!! Just did the download for 6 and I have 7 pro running in demo mode.
Life is good ..... no indication of multi-core yet though
These images are from a series of 9 views that were generated for a client interested in converting an existing administrative building on their campus into the new home of a regional art museum. Design and base model are not mine - I was just asked to finish off his model and set it in the site context with some entourage and render out images for a presentation. I am somewhat pleased with the results - but I am still constantly tweaking the composite process till I can get the balance I am looking for.
These images all are from 9 seperate images; 3 different kerky images, 3 su line exports, and 3 su color exports. All vehicles, people, & trees are 3D and from the warehouse - with some edits to "lighten" the geometry a little.
Always looking to improve - please make suggestions!

A test image of a sample studio of models I am working on for my furniture library. MODus is the manufacturer with a mix of Angle & Lolo series lounge pieces, Stripey storage cabinets, and Parallel / Slide shelving.

So for me caffeine is a natural substance.
I find lately that my body is just a housing for a coffee filter / exchange for 8 or so cups a day.........and yes there is a natural process involved!

Bruce,
That's freeking awesome!
Since you already have the cymbal stands modeled seperately - might as well just mount the toms on the bass drum. I always wondered what impact the extra hole and hardware have on the sound of the bass drum shell?
How did you do the hammered finish on the ride cymbal - incredible!
That's it tom............wonderfull balance!
And though I hate to say it - my eye and attention is drawn to the spear like tree branch shadow coming from the lower right side and pointing right at the center of the image - maybe just litghten it up a little in photo-something.

Beautiful fletch! I love your use of the technique, and I think it is great that more people are using Kerky in different ways. I have convinced several @ my office that this "loose" effect is best for most of our proposal / schematic level work.

Tom,
Wonderfull!! My only crit would be to see just a little less "burn" on the portion of the facade facing the sun - just enough for a slight delineation of the difference in materials to come through. I absoutely love the view angle and the context........

Bruce,
Don't know what renderer(s) you do use, but it woud probably be best to find a map of the material. I think you are probab;y talking bout something like this; http://www.dwdrums.com/drums/toms/finishply/fp-ruby-glass.htm The one in kerky is a composite material - takes much longer to achieve the best result.
Don't worry about the nuts and washers - the level of detal you have is fine. The maple interior shell with maybe worn felt beater pad on the bass head would make it a little more realistic. Your work here has inspired me I think I will try to model up a kit when I get some free time around the holidays.
None of my kids picked up the drums - but we currently have one that plays tuba & trombone, and another the french horn. I must admit I actually enjoy hearing them practice most of the time, however the first few months of the french horn were difficult at times.
Bytor
That looks great!
My only suggestion would be to offset the shell for the bass drum so you could make the inner shell the color of maple.
I have not played in over 15 years - pretty much stopped when the twins were born. Been getting the itch to get the kit out of the attic and set it up & let out some frustrations. Went to a band concert the other night for the twins where they play all of the pre-game and halftime music from this recently completed football season. Made that itch a little scratchier, and also took me back 30 years to when I was up on that stage. Your post has also made me think back to those days in HS whenI ran around with 2 other drummers - we were pretty much inseperable. When one of our sets of parents were out for the day on a weekend - we used to go over to that person's house and take turns for hour long intervals for jamming throughout the day. I still don't know how our parents ever put up with it when they were home.
Anyway - back to your finish question. I don't know what renderer you use, but Kerky has a couple of metal flake paint materials for cars - I attached a sample on a set I dloaded from the warehouse. Kept the finishes simple - was just trying to show the flake. You can see it best in the shadowed area of the bass below the tom.
Thanks for the post, and I am glad to see the progress you are making on your set.
