I had the same problem, but I applyed the light material on both faces, but some times it did't work, so finally I figured out that after put the material in both faces, I had to group it ( the light source, using emitter material) and the problem solved. No more black faces on emitters.

RE: Maxwell for SU VS Twilight
Hi, I have both, Twilight and Maxwell render for su, I have bought both, so I will not talk about the free version.
Twilight have the feature to put lamps, Maxwell not, just emitters, I had difficults most of the time wih the reversed faces, I applyed in both sides the emmiter materials and then they don't emmit any light.
Maxwell seems to be faster, but with the draft engine, with production engine, seems to take the same time as twilight. Twilight has other engines that are not unbiased and they are faster.
Reflections and bumps, are easy to make in both, but in Maxwell in think there is a plus in bumps.
No diplacement in both.About resolution, Ibelieve that i enough, but some times not very often, the clients ask for resolutions above 3000.
I found them both very usefull, but I hope Maxwell make some changes that fixes bugs, and add some features.
I really like them both. But surely I can recomend, Thea Render, or Octane Render with a good Nvidia Geforce gtx card.
Thea is very stable, never fails, a lot of materials at the licensed useres date base.
Thanks

RE: What is your favorite Photorealistic Renderer?
I want to talk about I own, and I have played; I have Vue, Thea, Octane, Lightup, Lumen RT, Maxwell for sketchup, Podium I & II, and IRenderNxt.
Vue very good for exteriors.
Thea Incredible versatility an great price for all the features.
Octane very fast, and great results, but you must take care about the number of textures on your scene, great price.
Lightup, very good and stable, and very good price for all you can do, easy to learn, you can play the files any where. Its being upgrading very often.
LumenRT, I rendered a model I downloaded from google warehouse, I did no settings, and the results were great. Great price. You need to have a good video card to play the files.
Maxwellgives very good results, but still a little slow, but great price.
Podium good and stable, and still a little slow.
IRender Nxt Stable good results, I don't know what to say about price, this was my first render engine, I still like it, but I haven't upgraded yet. What I Use most?
Vue for exteriors,
Thea for every thing, exteriors and interiors
Octane for every thing, but must be small scene
Lightup, it's nice to have something to give to my clients,so they can play or interact with it.I think the use of each render engine depends on the project, the client, and the time you have.

Has any body have used the Microsoft touch mouse with sketchup? I have one, but I don't know how to use the orbit feature with it, with my old mouse I can orbit 3d objects with the scroll button of the mouse.

Mouth-watering.
I bought Octane some time ago but I was disappointed by its limitation to just 32 full-color textures.
Dale, why is Indigo RT so cheap? Is there a limitation on the number of textures, too?
I just found the product comparison chart:
http://www.indigorenderer.com/product-comparisonSeems like I'll be missing SSS and IES. Is there a roadmap for future Indigo RT features?
Qustion for Ecuadorian.
What do you mean with: "limitation to just 32 full-color textures"?.

IΒ΄m sorry but what do you mean with 32 full-color textures? what format is that? *.tga, *.tif? 32 rgba?

RE: E-on-Lumenrt render for Sketchup
Another question, can I make a cube of a residential project? It is a 50 lots with a park at the center, and 15 trees.
I'm asking this because the new update, I want to know if it will work?

RE: E-on-Lumenrt render for Sketchup
Hi We just bought LumenRT and it is very easy to use, and great result even at preview mode, incredible. The only thing is I feel the published file is too slow to play in any computer, I tried to play it in a Core I7 laptop and was so slow, are there any way to improve this? or Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

RE: Indigo Renderer 3.0 Released!

or I need a better video car this one has 320 processors, with a GeForce GTX 590 will run faster?, or not too much. Thanks for any advise.

RE: Lumion - Test drive
Hi would like to ask your advise, I want to make a smart buy, I have a ATI FireGL 8600, if I buy Lumion, do I need to buy a Nvidia with cudas? Like the Ge Force GTX 570, are there any difference in performance between the ATI FireGLand the GeForce GTX?
Is it real what Lumion's web page says: "Create movies in minutes"? I have Vue, and took me a week to make a movie 2 minutes long, how long takes lumion to make 2 minutes long movie?I really want more trees, and the effects, how much do I need to pay? 799 euros + 150 euros +150 euros? or 799 +150?
Sorry to ask you this here, but I feel I will get an answer more clear here than if I do it at Lumion's forum.
Thanks

Why not!?
of course artisan should be free..if a more advanced thing is for free then a basic version shouldn't come at a price...
Piracy culture again, every thing for free!!!, just my work must be sold!!! The cars should be free!!! homes should be free!!!
Would you give your hard work for free? I'm sure you wouldn't, if there are any interested on it.Sorry to say this, but here is the Sketchucation forum, not a Taringa forum.

RE: Best inside SU renderer under $200
Why don't you test a software like Thea render? Runs out of SU, but I found speed improvement and quality.
Is an Unbiased rendering software like Twilight, so these both for interiors are great,You can download the demo, and test all of them, and see what is good for you!! instead of think in a top price.I have IRenderNxt, and also Podium, Twilight and Thea, I use IRenderNxt and/or Podium for some kind of clients, and when I have work as a freelance I use Twilight and/or Thea
And for exteriors Vue (e-on software)
I have some clients that they only want NPR renderings, so I use Piranesi. All are very good, I have used all of them, always depends on the work, the client.

RE: All these renderers look so damn good
Please forgive me if I say something in favor to a specific render engine, but let me share how I use to work:
For me I use to make the sketch, with sketchup, then I choose a software to render my project, it depends on how much time i have to do it, for my very first Idea, I use to make floor plans and a rendering with Piranesi, then I choose a Photoreallistic rendering software for exteriors and may be another for interiors, Most of the time I choose Vue for exteriors, It has fantastic trees and scenes, and for interiors I use twilight when I have enough time for every render I need to make, like 9 hrs for a single good rendering, and when I don't have much time I do it in IRende or Podium, they are faster than the unbiased software, but those unbiased software are very good, very photo reallistic, but very slow.
I can tell you because I own these software, I can't tell you of those I don't own. You must be aware of the size of your projects, and choose a rendering software that can handle bigger models. Some times must be done outside of SketchUp.
