Digs are coming along Baz, nice work. Looks like you have everything optimized in the space department πŸ‘ I am sure you will check 3 times for underpass headroom πŸ˜‰:). I know it does not help you but perhaps others. I am with Vodaphone so coverage in the sticks may not be good, but I have no landline so use pocket wifi. I get 90 Gigs for $54 a month, and pay 30 for unlimited use on my phone which also has 4 gigs included so i get 94 gigs with unlimited calls for $94 a month.

Thanks Liam, funny you should say check 3 times.
I did, and still went empirical anyway.
IE: I set the canopy frame up on temp posts and walked under it a few times.
SU gave me a good benchmark, (about 20 mm low.)

Baz to scale. Add a bit of gut and fix the posture and he would even look like me. I dress better tho'.

          BTW: I am 6'4' and 3/4", 195cm.

Can I ask this fairly select group of posters about some stuff?

            As in:
I have a large number of skips from my work since SU V5 which I don't wish consigned to oblivion.
So, I want to give away all my skps and designs.

I am thinking loading perhaps 100 skips somewhere?
A post?, ugly. Maybe SUC could have a moderated 'warehouse'?

            Wot to do?

PS: Might have over-trained a bit, but bugger it, off it goes.
I am some sort of artist, certainly a craftsman, with a wide streak of pragmatism in order to keep beer in the fridge. Some of my work is really good, and some is pragmatic and good enough.
Bottom line for me is has to be solid and safe, IE: well made. SU has been a huge help in this. I approach each job with art foremost in mind, followed quickly by reality and then quickly adapt to the budget, and then hopefully think art again.
And I give a lifetime guarantee on all my work. (Yours or mine).

My two cents. The awning in the illustration looks too low. Barring other considerations. I'd make it higher. People going up and down steps do not walk in a smooth line--depending on their gait, their head height varies. Take it from someone who has knocked himself on a low beam in hurrying up a step...I wasn't knocked senseless but who's to say?

My design was too low so I tested it empirically as mentioned previously. Three months now and no problem.
In Wales, I lived in a pub where I had to duck every step and a half to avoid the joists.

Here is how it is now...
... doesn't come close to the actual of course.

So seven months and about sixty five grand later I am living in my tiny house.

Had to move before it was completely finished because my mate was selling his property. But quite civilised with heating, hot water, cooking etc.

And at the moment in a caravan park while I find somewhere more permanent.

                        As usual SU was essential.
                        Main Dims: 7500 length x 2950 width x 3250 height mm.

                          Hi Guys,

I'm resurrecting this post as I'm currently designing a Tiny House for a client/friend.

                          Tiny House Design Pic.jpeg
The regulations for in-situ Tiny Houses here in Ireland are far more strict than they are in the UK. In the UK it seems a Tiny House is classified as a caravan but here in Ireland it falls under the domestic structure category with all the building regs that entails. I suppose I could put it on wheels!

Still, my initial attempt is, I feel, more in keeping with the Tiny House ethos and I'll push as far as I can until I reach a brick wall. It's the Fire Regs that are sticky but from past experience I have learned that if its possible to meet or possibly surpass the regs by other means it might be a flier.

The areas of contention are the sleeping loft head room and the short (overall) run of the stairs with its single foot area per step/thread. I've used this type of stair design before for loft storage entry. Once the user gets used to them they work fine.

The HWB/Shower/WC Pod construction should be fun but the upside is that one can soak their feet while on the WC πŸ˜‰

I'm attaching a short video of the initial design, warts and all for comments, in this post.
