This looks great Bryan!! Nighttime scenes are some of my favorite. I think adding some shining headlights to the jeep and some lights on the plane would really take this scene to the next level! Maybe throw in some fog too, and help it keep the dark and mysterious look you were going for.

These are just my own artistic opinions, so please disregard if you like it how it is! The artist always has final say πŸ˜‰

A model I made based on an Imperial pistol from Warhammer. Rendered with Thea render V3. This was a fun one to do!

Hi avis, I just did a test with my renderer. I found a better display with more colour and higher resulotion, I turned theWHOLE display image into a light emmiter and placed it under a thin piece of "glass" ( to show a bit of reflection) with an "air gap" so there is no "Z" fighting. The 2 white lines where the screen contacts the Plastic facia is just due to my sloppyness;) Also in your renders it looks like the "glass" sits above the ambient surface of the OP1 facade. It is actually flush in real life.

The only reason I got back on this, is because that is such a cracking model/render I think it deserves perfection πŸ‘

Oh wow, that display looks great! Keeping me on my toes mate πŸ˜‰ I will update the model/render and repost! Thank you again for the kind words πŸ˜„

Thank you for the kind replies and suggestions all!

I love how this looks with the screen turned on...definitely gives it some life! Many thanks for the image L i am! I put the color version in the albedo channel, and then plugged a high contrast black and white version into the emission channel to drive the emitter material. That way the details glow but the black part does not!

Thank you so much! All thanks to Octane honestly...being able to see material updates in seconds instead of minutes is honestly a game-changer...it really lets your full creativity come out.

    • Re-examining the OP-1 With Octane Render

      Hello all,

Spent the last week or two teaching myself the ins and outs of Octane Render...incredibly powerful program, I am very impressed!! Still only know about 20% of the software, but enough to get these images out! I stopped most of them after 1 minute of rendering or so...VERY fast.

Full-size renders can be seen on my Behance: https://www.behance.net/aviz1

Scene I put together to showcase some Bauhaus-style models I've made recently. Have been experimenting with making custom LUTs in photoshop on a per render basis and then applying them to the render in Thea, and the results have been fantastic I have to say! Cheers all!
