i would certainly enjoy reading that thread.
I would love to see what different combinations of programs can achieve.

RE: The World Hopes for Its First President
People on both ends of the political spectre seem to agree on this one.
To summarize: Obama gives people hope - people of all persuasions. This in itself amazes me. Warms my increasingly cynical heart. In my opinion we've gotten to a strange and ridiculous place in politics in this country.( or maybe we've always been there, i don't know) If you're a conservative, liberals are the enemy, and vice versa. Just look at all the vitriol on some of these other threads.
The fact is if you agree to participate in this process, you agree to accept the outcome.
I see these bumper stickers that say " so and so, not my president" or " dont blame me, I voted for the other guy " And the always beloved dixie chicks announcing to the world " He's not our president". Such a childish, idiotic mentality.
I'm a conservative ( not the Bush kind). I wont vote for Obama, but it looks like the writing is on the wall. Looks like he's in.
I, as an adult , with children, have to hope he does well.
In short, My HOPE for Obama is that he doesnt blow it. -
RE: Why vote Obama?
All of you guys spouting party lines are, at best, naive. I dont see how anybody can reach the age of 30, and still take either of the 2 major parties seriously.
I'd vote 3rd party in a heartbeat. We just need one without a looney at the wheel.
We need someone who is strong, yet sensitive to our needs.....someone like....TED NUGENT -
Editing animation, what not to use
Hey everyone
Just thought I would throw this out there.
I've been trying to edit exported SU animations in Pinnacle studio 12.
After several failed attempts, and thinking I was doing something wrong. I discovered that Pinnacle doesnt recognize the exported file format (.avi1, I think). There are apparently two types of .avi and it only recognizes the other one. It's also a very unstable program, lots of freezes, crashes etc...
I also tried many different video converters out there but there always seemed to be loss of quality.
Long story short, I downloaded the trial version of a competitor (corel) and it all worked like magic.
I bought the program for just this purpose, and it's a $90 frisbee now.
Hope somebody finds this useful

RE: Updated avi output
Hi Gaieus
Thanks for the reply. I guess im going to have to read up on all the different codex('S?)
as for outputting to mpg, I thought avi was the only output option from sketchup.
I know I should research this alot more, but working at home with a toddler in the house, i'm lucky to just get my work done.
Thanks again

Updated avi output
I bought Pinnacle 12 video editor a while ago and it doesnt recognize the sketchup avi. I dont know much about this but apparently there is more than one kind of avi.
I have to run my sketchup avi files through a converter before I can edit them in pinnacle.
So.. my wish is for more/newer/updated avi output.
Thanks

There is a great tutorial on this at go-2-school.com. Look up the videos on the section tool.
