Updated avi output
-
I bought Pinnacle 12 video editor a while ago and it doesnt recognize the sketchup avi. I dont know much about this but apparently there is more than one kind of avi.
I have to run my sketchup avi files through a converter before I can edit them in pinnacle.
So.. my wish is for more/newer/updated avi output.
Thanks

Hi Pat,
Now I'm not sure if I1m correct but SU uses the video converters (codex'- hm... "codices") that you have on your machine installed (you can choose from a variety of them in the animation export options).
Anyway, for finer output I'd use uncompressed videos (like mpg) or even uncompressed series of still images and use that for a final tweaking in your video editor. Most of the quality editors will make better output than SU with the codices (
Do you use the Latin plural for this term as well

Hi Gaieus
Thanks for the reply. I guess im going to have to read up on all the different codex('S?)
as for outputting to mpg, I thought avi was the only output option from sketchup.
I know I should research this alot more, but working at home with a toddler in the house, i'm lucky to just get my work done.
Thanks again

When your choosing the save location for the animation you should be able choose what you want to export to in a little drop down menu underneath the save loaction.
On a slight side note, i didnt have .mpg as an option, only jpg, png, tif, bmp and avi. Is it broken?
