I'm new to SU/LO and am using one of the generic templates. I've typed my own company info in a pre-created text box, but when trying to create a new text box in another area of the title bar I can't make my text visible. I've used the text tool to create a rectangle, then typed inside of it and clicked outside of the box to finish, but the letters don't show up.

I'm going to buy the new 21.5" iMac and wonder if I'll get better performance with SU from the more expensive one. Spec comparison:

Also, looking at 13" MacBook Air. Though it doesn't have a separate video card, I could do some basic operations with it when experimenting in the Apple store, Anybody know if I'll get bogged down when, e.g., importing 3D components from the warehouse?

i've been using SU for 3 months on an older iMac and occasionally the scroll wheel stops zooming. it usually started to work again, but now it's stuck. ideas?

Hello - I'm a landscape designer who's just completed a basic class on SU.
