... I fact it seems bette to Geo-Locate the model either by way of grabbing aerial location or manually > window > model info > geo locate before changing time zone in shadows. Geo-locating updates time zone in any case. Should work both ways I guess (though a time zone only isn't accurate enough) but least this works.

Hi mitcorb, I tried some of them and no one can produce proper result with the situation in the screenshots - they all break where the 3 edges meet. Pipe Along Path is not processing the request , it complains because the edges are not a valid path. It could be I did something wrong when using the plugins, or maybe none of them is intended for this scenario. The best results I got are the ones using Follow Me on various sub-paths and then intersecting and cleaning the mesh, which is still a viable choice if the mesh is simple but it becomes a no-no when things get too much complicated! Thanks a lot Chris, it worked like a charm. Do you have more advices for similar situations? Are you aware of any plugin for recreating at least some of the bridging tools you find (for instance) in Max? By the way, thanks for your plugins

FYI i just read that the quotes are needed if you have any spaces in the path.

Tig's explanation gives the logical reason for the behaviour...but of course things aren't always logical. The sides of a road wouldn't bend like that, for instance. I thought some time ago about requesting a new feature for the Offset Tool, activated by holding Ctrl down, but thinking more deeply, it's one of those situations in which the software can't read your mind; it has no idea which lines you want to remain parallel and which to 'doctor'. Mostly, I do what Tig has done and simply delete the weird bits (much easier with the last couple of versions that allow edges to self-intersect) If you really do want to maintain some kind of predictable curvature on the offset, having exceeded the centre of curvature of the outside corners, then use the maths demonstrated in the diagram. This effectively shifts the centre to the middle of the square...so you can run a number of concentric offsets with uniformly smaller corner curves. The easiest solution is, of course, to work from the inside and offset outwards...then you don't get any of these problems and the corner curves will remain mathematically parallel...but probably more rounded than you want by the time you reach the exterior. Thanks to both, I'm taking a look at both the scripts. I have a little question about Repeat Copy, before I buy it : will it use the normal of the receiving face for orienting the pasted component? I also tried "Component on face" by Chris Fullmer and it's quite useful though not exactly what I was looking for (some manual tweaking is required). Thanks again
