    • RE: Some help please

This is why I love this forum, so many people willing to share their time and expertise, that just doesn't happen on any other forum, this is definitely a community. This is also why I love SU, so many ways to get the end result.

Thanks Gaieus, I was hoping someone had a method or trick to simplify this a little.

Gaieus, I hope this explains it better. I will also post the skp if needed but all it is, is exactly what you see, a shape that I want to turn into a circle. Thanks.

    • Some help please

I need to know how to take my intertwined faces and form a perfect circle or wrap them around my circle so that I could do an intersect and erase any unwanted geometry. I also want the intertwined faces to have a thickness so I'm guessing I should use push/pull before following any other steps? Thanks.

Tim, check out this post http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6603
solo mentions Deep Exploration, it's a bit spendy but they do offer a 30 day demo. I just downloaded it myself and it looks like you can import skp and export stl.

    • RE: Vrml to xml

I guess I could use it to convert the vrml to 3ds and bring it into SU, the reason I wasn't going that path was the fact the program I modeled these with has a 3ds exporter but when I import those into SU my textures get scaled, some are missing, I get double faces, extra lines, just a real mess. But maybe it's just that programs 3ds exporter and Crossroads will do a better job?

    • RE: Vrml to xml

After some more searching, I did find a list of file formats for Crossroads, xml wasn't on the list, unless vrml 2.0 is actually considered xml? Don't know much about all this. What I'm trying to do is, I have some models in vrml that I would like to render with KT. So i need a way to either bring them into SU or convert them to xml so I could import straight to KT.

    • RE: Vrml to xml

Alan, I saw that thread and that you converted vrml to 3ds however you didn't specfically mention what file formats Crossroads imports and exports and I couldn't find this information either when I googled Crossroads. Being that it's 10 years since development stopped, I wasn't sure if it would export to xml. I don't like to install anything without knowing it will do the job I need, keeps my system clean and lean πŸ˜† Thanks for the reply.

    • Vrml to xml

Does any know if a easy to use converter exists? So far the only thing I've come by is X3D edit which doesn't seem like a nice and easy import vrml and export xml. Or is there a plugin that will let me import vrml into SU. Thanks

Eric, I just paid the $10, now no more pop-ups. I don't have a plotter so I use it to print my cad drawings which I then take to Knikos.

I just printed your skp to pdf995 and it opened in acrobat reader 8.1 just fine, was able to scroll and zoom.
