Hi,

I also want to create realistic grass, but I don't know how to do it! I have domnloaded several vismat materials and when I preview the material it looks great. But when I add it to a surface in sketchup it just looks flat and boring like any other texture!

What am I doing wrong? Please I need some help so that I can continue. Is there any good tutorial that I have missed out there about making grass for vray and sketchup?

I use vray for sketchup 1.48 and I have some simple questions.
In the manual for 1.48 on page 9 there are some information about anti-aliasing and adaptive subdivisions and object outline. It this something I can increase to improve the quality of the render or is this done somewhere else in the options?

I also wonder about rendering. If I want the same distance to my object that I see on the screen in the render window, how do I change that? I hope you understand what I mean. The object is "pushed" away a little bit like with digital cameras. And when I save I also get an alpha channel image? Why? Stop this?

Hi, thanks for the help!

But I still have some trouble with my grass materials. I use the Grass Plane.vismat material that I have downloaded from the ASGVIS homepage. Please have a look at the attached image. I can't see any bump and the grass looks so small?! I have tried to increase the texture inside Sketcup paintbucket by editing the texture to 2 x 2 meters, but it looks very unrealistic to me in the render. Is there any other options that I have missed that I can change in the materials properties to get a more realistic grass?

Is there any better method to create grass instead of using a texture like this? Is there better grass materials to dowmnload somewhere else?

Hi,

I'm trying to render a night scene with a simple box with one open side like a large window. Inside the box i place a area light. But it doesn't work has I was hoping! I want light spread out from the box and on the ground a little bit from the opening. But do I have to turn of the sun to get a dark environment around the box? If yes, how to turn off sun? Or is there another way to create a dark scene?

Thanks! But where do I reload the texture? Must texture be saved at a special place?

I can't reach that computer right now to check the number. Perhaps I later. Any ideas why I get this dark preview balls?

Hi,

When I'm going to add a new material in material editor, I right click scene material and the load material. And when I have loaded a material like wood or grass, I make a preview. But all I get is a black ball!? Every material that uses some kind of texture don't work. But if I use a material like chrome or carpaint, then I can get a preview and it's also working when I render.

Please, someone who could help and tell me what I do wrong?! Thanks!
