Hi Dave, the file is nothing special, it could be any file. I just modeled a simple floor plan to figure the line weights out. I would just like to know the simplest way to make the walls thicker than everything else. So far, tracing the walls in LayOut with the stroke tool is it. I turned off Fill, and it worked. If there's an easier way, please LMK!

RE: Tracing Walls with the Stroke Tool
Dave, yes, it's a viewport from a SketchUp model. The only other way I can find involves making scenes, copying viewports, lining them up, switching to vector view, and changing line weight in one of the scenes. But that method still doesn't work for me. When I copy viewports, one obscures the other. I can't get the top viewport transparent.

Tracing Walls with the Stroke Tool
Hi, I'd like to trace the walls on a top-down view (floor plan) with the stroke tool to make them thicker. But when I do this, the whole plan fills, so I can't see the interior. Is there a setting that I can adjust that will turn this fill off so I can simply trace all the exterior and interior walls?

Want a Circle Outline, Not a Filled Circle
Hi, I'm trying to draw a circle outline, but the circle keeps filling in with an opaque white. Moving the opacity slider under Colors doesn't help. I know that an outline can be done because I'm trying to follow a YouTube tutorial where he draws a circle outline. Where is the setting to fix this? Thanks!

Turn off the hidden geometry! Of course! facepalm...
Thanks!

I already did the equivalent of wadding it up and throwing it out, lol. I will recreate and post later.

RE: Pizza model -how to do?
Dave ...that's all I've been doing for two hours. All I can do is project it piece by piece onto each polygon ... there's got to be a better way? Does the radial mesh in that model have anything to do with it, do you think? And how did he do that?

Pizza model -how to do?
Hi all, I've tried to recreate the above model and have done it every way but the right way. How did the modeler get that radial mesh, and is it necessary for the end result?
I made a rectangular mesh with the Sandbox tools (grid and smoove), drew a circle over it, exploded, and then trimmed everything outside the circle. However, the pizza picture has to be tediously painted onto each polygon. It appears that the modeler just painted one complete image onto it (or maybe I'm wrong. Just didn't think anyone would spend the time doing that). I tried smooth/softening, but that didn't work, either.
I can position the pizza texture nicely inside a circle, I can make a rectangular mesh inside a circle, but I can't put the two together. Any ideas?

RE: Tooltips not showing up in SketchUp Make?
Well, I went to OpenGL and clicked "Fast Feedback" and that fixed it. Guess it was a display issue.
FWIW, I first uninstalled and reinstalled SketchUp, thinking that might fix it. In the process I learned that all the plugins I had previously downloaded were preserved. Weird, I would have thought that the plugins folder would have been erased when I uninstalled the software, but that wasn't the case.
