I used to draw my town and I manage to finish about of 50% of it. It was a job for about a year and a half. Now I have some issues I got to work on, but when I finish all, I will present to you, so you can tell me is it any good, and I need come critics about it so I can make it better.I hope we will manage to help each other! Hi my name is Andrew.
I am a trim carpenter out of Indiana, I am somewhat new to sketchup.
I usually will draw a sketch of a project by hand for clients, but I would like to use sketchup more so I can play with more ideas without having to erase and re draw. Anyway, I am kind of stuck on one of my sketchup drawings for a wine cellar that I have to build. I don't really know how to use this forum completely but if any one would like to help, I don't know how to put a picture of what I am doing in sketchup to show what I need help with. Any help would be really great.

Below the text area where you type your forum post, there is an "Upload attachment" tab (if you scroll down a bit maybe). There you can attach images but sometimes the real skp file is the best.

Hi All,
Names Andrew and I work as a CAD technician in a small practice. I've done a number of renderings before, but they were mostly made using dxb exports from ACAD and then coloured/textured/etc though Photoshop & Illustrator, so I haven't really fully utilized all that SketchUp has to offer. I'm already downloading some great plugins and playing around with all the different possibilities this program has.
Nice looking forum here, I look forward to getting to know the community

Hi All,
...and enormous thanks for all of your help and information! I discovered SU a year ago, while looking for an alternative to my old student version of AutoCAD (for interior design). I've been giddy with delight ever since! I was successfully using the Pro 7 version until a few days ago, when I upgraded to the new Pro 8, and am now having issues with Push/Pull not functioning correctly. (It seems to work for a few operations, and then starts to just move the faces)
I've read that it could be related to my mouse (Logitech LX 3 optical) and wonder if anyone here has encountered the same issue, and hopefully can offer some advice? I unfortunately uninstalled the older program, and am desperate to get "up and running" again. I'm having SU withdrawal symtoms!!!
Any suggestions would be most appreciated!I'm excited to be part of this forum, and looking forward to learning more.

Maybe it's your graphics card/driver. Ty to disable hardware acceleration under Window > Preferences > OpenGL settings. If it "seems" to help, first thing should be to update your video driver.
What video card do you have by the way?

Thanks for the welcome and the suggestion. I did try that earlier as a solution, but it didn't work. My Graphics card (is that the same as the Video card?...please forgive me if that's a dumb question!) is the NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800M GS 512MB.
Fortunately, I did a System Restore, and have my Pro 7 Version back. I plan to reinstall the 8 version at a later time.

Well, openGL and graphic (or video) card issue was just my first guess. Yet you could still try a driver update. If it used to work with SU 7 and now with SU 8 it has issues, I am still suspicious (the card itself seems to be okay).
I also have a Logitech mouse but I did not install its driver just using it as a plug and play mouse and it works flawlessly.
Anyway, you can install and keep both SU versions at the same time. I have all since version 6 and can even run them together.
