Ta, a bit confused by an ?artifact? but it may just be a result of rendering glass generally. In the model depicted in the render, there is a t load of glass and this is visible from some views as a 'black' artifact where a second glass group is visible through a nearer group and is basically cancelled out. It therefor appears as a 'black' plane/face.

      Looking for suggestions.

@Mike-Amos Under your render tab, what is the max depth? In scenes with a lot of glass, it could be that you need to increase it. Let me know if that helps.

@Mike-Amos Do you mind archiving the scene and sending it my way? I will have a look.

            Cheers,

@mike-amos Thanks for sharing the scene. That helped me figure out the issue.

The glass windows in your scene are modelled as 100% transparant (opacity = 0%).

              KjOWIEfXlE.png

I'm getting technical here, but Rayscaper internally only allows for 8 transparent ray bounces. After 8 bounces, the ray terminates without contributing any light which results in the black windows. In your scene, there's a bit of bouncing around through multiple layers of glass, hence the black windows. In the next release, I will make the number of transparent bounces configurable as well so that you can bump it up to higher values if required.

              Before

              After

              black_window_after.png

The fix will be available in the next release.

              Cheers,
              Thomas
