Is there a way to copy the “named materials” from an older version of SketchUp to SketchUp 2026?

I think we have had this discussion before but I could not find it.

Is there a way to search the forum? I do not see search option anywhere and think there should be a search option.

      Press F1...thank me later

Just make a new materials library. That way when SketchUp 2027 drops it is easy migrate materials to that version.

Yes, there is a search icon next to the bell.

Neither of the icons next to the bell on my devices provide a "search" capability. The one to the left of the bell says "Mark Unread" and the one to the right of the bell says "Sort By". Thus, I wanted to find the old thread where we discussed the older version of the "named colors" (which actually shows the colors in a solid color and shows the name of the color).

I will look at copying the named colors folder from my older version of SketchUp to the 2026 version though and set something up so I can also use it in future versions though. Thanks for that thought. 😀

I just found the desired texture folders and copy pasted them from 2024 to 2026. Works fine and is basically what the Trimble folk suggested.
