@L-i-am I would try this way:

        1. Draw curves flat and weld them together.
        2. Copy it vertically, use Vertex tools with Soft selection radius, and adjust the heights of that curve.
        3. Use Curviloft - Loft by Spline to make a surface.
        4. Use Joint Push Pull to add thickness.
        5. Add a cylinder to match the bottom curve, (in my case I use a circle for the last part of that curve).
        6. Join them with Solid Tools.

You could also try Chris Fullmers Shape Bender. Note how tapping the up and down arrow changes the preview, and then Enter to complete. I through the ellipses in to show how it reshapes things.

I used CurviShear on the plan view for the curves here then extruded with Eneroth Upright Extrude for the wall. I think your curves might be more helical.

I think what you want is like a variable pitch helix. The curve of the helix begins from a horizontal plane then begins the helix and at the top the pitch transitions to another horizontal plane. In Sketchup you'd have to mess with the line segments. I tried finding something in Blender and haven't found anything. I'm still a novice with that. It looks like Solidworks and Rhino can do something like that.
