Thanks guys, the purpose of this model is only to create a few images so im not to bothered about polygons right now, but I always keep in mind that I might want to convert it for a sim so I cant help but make it reasonable poly, wish SU had a nice simple built in subdiv like blender to enable you to switch back and forth when you need to! for this project I will be using tileable Pbr materials without unwrapping.

Links to our current projects below, I am still working on a dedicated page for Vessel viewer, but many vids created from it are on my youtube channel, this showcases its current capabilities.

Thanks Nxtdave, its weekend so its crunch time!

Using tileable texture does give you huge resolution overall, im not used to getting such clarity so close to my models!

Adding details 1 piece at a time, Tarp has always been a challange, If I add a binding rope then im sure it would look more realistic

Completed the binnacle today, and almost completed the companionways, also textured and split the helm and drew the ships bell, not quite satisfied with the material settings yet, still needs some tweaking

Oh great. Here we go again. Another beautiful model and render by our resident master shipbuilder.

In other words, I can already tell it's going to be a knockout! πŸ‘

Thanks Bryan, I hope this project will not disappoint!

Started work on the standing rigging, similar to Lettie G Howard`s fittings, added a few deck fittings here and there, and of course added the chain plates

This is really amazing. I would never imagine being able to do such a thing in SketchUp.
Last week I did a one-day modeling and rendering similar job using Blender (Modeling, rendering, post pro..) based on an image on the web. You are pushing the Sketchup to the limits!

Thanks guys, I wish I could say the same about the speed, currently 3042 minutes in (50 hours)

Majid thats incredible speed for 1 day and the render looks awesome, well done!

The Iconic Telegraph is complete, and added the bowsprit chain lines

@axeonalias : You are pushing Sketchup to its boundaries!
Blender has a builtin Subd that makes it easier to model. By the way in some cases nothing may beat Sketchup's speed modeling.
