Tinkering...

On a few steps.

Its on it way.
Did you try IES for the spots?
Are you using a light portal or some type of emitter in the window? It looks overexposed on the countertop.
If you look at the shadows cast by the leaves in your background image compared to the light in the window. The window light say 'midday cloudless sky' whereas the background says 'autumn overcast'.
Your indoor lighting without the spots or windows seem fine. I wonder if its just values pushed to high?

I had not tried ies and yes the spots might be adjusted. Six is probably ott.
Slowly going on with this tbh, any faster and I think it might just tell me which door to exit.
I have a windows 11 pro key and am looking to repair the windoze install. Just need to make sure I do not cluck it up.
I have it in mind to increase texture count and hdri too, a pity my library is on the other pc.......

OK, there was a LED light above the sink unit which was superfluous, gone and the lights are now IES.
Still not surte abouyt the reflection from the worktop but that can be adjusted further no doubt.

Yeow! Looking good!

Ta Bryan, appreciated.

Thanks mate.

I love that last one. Really nice vibe.
A higher resolution background it would really push it further.
Try Polyhaven for HDRIs. I realise the thought of rendering is such a pain but worth seeing if there's room to get even more clarity.

Cheers Rich, I know what you mean, I had what might be called a 'brain fart' thinking it might give a sort of DoF effect but not worth it in the end, just thought I'd give it a go.
I shall have another thunk but first, coffee. It's bluddy cool out thar.

-6c here this morning and still below freezing now. Plus storm warning for weekend.

The term 'polar bathing' might be apropriate if I were not such a wuss. Save it for summer perhaps.......
MOving on, turned the idea into another render but I am tryiong to find a little entourage for shelves etc. Nothing too fancy, and complete under stair storage too.
-
Well here it is, looking to see more depth with the added lights etc. Only you, the viewer can decide.
Sorry for the Hitchcocks half hour close.

Upstaiors for the next sequence. Not finished yet and some lights may change.
