Nearing the final stages of the modeling now, still have to finish up a few odds and ends here and there, and then we go to unwrapping.
Ive decided to model in the smaller hull decals as the hull pbr would need to be 8k for them to even show up, and even then it wont be as crisp, a worthy tradeoff for a solid colour decal
-
Very impressive.
-
Top notch!
-
Magic.
-
Why thank you kindly Some basic colouring added just to get a feel for her colour scheme, railings all done, life raft complete amongst a bunch of small models all over the show, polishing and optimizing the mesh for export
-
Holy guacamole!
-
Just about finished modeling now, added the windlass and chain with its deck fittings, completed the bollard details, had to redo the main passenger deck, after fitting the rescue boat davit the canvas frame was incorrectly scaled, and since the davit was perfectly scaled, the frame and others had to change to suite, only have the 3 white boxed to complete now, which are wheelie bins, oh and the rescue boat boarding ladder.

Handsome result. Well done
-
Amazing work.

If we were still running tghe axtroadinary builds section, this should have been in it. Great build mate.

Thanks guys, the more time that goes into this project the more I enjoy the outcome, but you have to be carefull not to bite off more than you can chew, with Panther I bit off more than I can chew and became demotivated, which delayed the project by a whole year!
The Slow painfull tedious task of UV mapping is in full swing so progress will be slow, currently completed the ramp, I wish Sketchup had a decent UV unwrapper like Max or Blender...
Still have to tweak the materials before I can apply the final decals, but creating materials is hands down the best part of any project for me!
-
UV Mapping is just about done, theres still a bunch of tweaking that needs to be done, but ive started playing around with the materials, going max grunge is always fun before tidying it up!
A single 4k PBR material is plenty enough resolution for this giving me 62TD
-
You're a beast! Fast and committed
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing the process

Amazing results for your persistence. Brilliant.
Might I suggest less bump effect. The Thickness of metal on hulls is not what a lot think, it really is quite thin metal sheets in reality and that bump would go right through.
That said, I love it.

Thanks guys, No problem Mike those were just drag and drop materials for fun, ive spent some time completing them now, still need a few minor tweaks but shes just about done, a single 4k PBR for the ship and a 2k PBR for all the moving parts, She weighs in @ 187k Polys :

Final Renders as promised, can spend days perfecting this and adding stuff, but alas!
-
These are just unrealistic renders.
-
