Projecting geometry?

Is there a way to project geometry from one component or face to another?
My example here is a box and I added a hand carry opening on one side and want to do the same to the other without taking the time to re-draw it. The sides of the box are not the same so they cannot be the same component.
Can geometry be projected like this in Sketchup?Of course the time it has taken me to search for a solution and write this negates the time it would take to re-draw and extrude it but...you know...for future knowledge.

If you make it a component and copy the component. All 'like' components will inherit changes

The two ends (sides) of the box are different, unique, pieces. In this case I decided to add the hand holds after adding a shelf and a dado to the right side.

You could select the edges of the hole on the one part and copy them over to the other part.
Looks like the only difference between the two is the additional dado in the one on the right. You could copy that one and flip it to make a new left end and then make the left component unique and edit out the dado.

My bad, I missed the part where you wrote the non-similar ends.
Many ways to tackle it. As Dave says, copy, make unique and cleanup would be the quickest.
Another would be to boolean difference the cutout using copied elements from the correct side.
Fredo's Visuhole would also make light work of it. Depends on your favourite weapon of choice.

Thanks for the ideas. This was just an example of something I've run into a few times. This is surely an easy one but there have been other instances where I wish I could just project the geometry from one face to another.
I come from other solid modeling software so I sometimes get frustrated trying to use Sketchup like other programs.
Thanks again. -
Rich gave you several suggestions that can do that sort of thing.
Sometimes it just requires thinking ahead a few steps. If I was modeling this piece and like you decided to add the hand hole late in the design, I would have put the hand hole in the left hand side component, then replaced the right side component with the left one (select the old right side, right click on the left one in the components panel and choose Replace Selected. Then Make Unique and use the shelf to cut a new dado in the new right side with Eneroth Trim or Bool Tools 2 Trim. It take a little forethought and planning for possible changes but it's not difficult and takes little time, especially with keyboard shortcuts.
