The Nadesico A

Great progress Looking forward to seeing it in a render.

Thanks tuna.

Go sidetracked on the artist studio render. But I learned a lot from it!
Let's see, what part to model next? The rear engines I think...
-
First rough block of the rear engines.
Same technique as before. One component, replicated 4 times for each pod. I'll add the missing gap sections after I finalize the main pods.
Now for the fiddling... first I'll get the outlines and mass shaped up.

Thanks tuna. Thanks L i am.

Rear engines shaping up somewhat.
Just a reminder that everything to date is still just blocking out. Even the front nacelles. I just did a little extra on those to give me an idea of what I need to do once the blocking was done, but even they need more attention. Once the mass shapes are good, I will go back and smooth everything out with more faces. So there are many more stages to go after the block-outs are done.
Months I tell you!
-
Forgot to mention I will be using Curviloft for final cleanup and smoothing.
I will be sure to show how I use it. I've already tested it and it's going to work beautifully.
But I have to finish the block-out shapes first. So it will be some time before I get to that stage.

Excellent progress Funny side noteβ¦. when I see the title of your post my brain says Nabisco and I start looking for the cookies
-
Thanks tuna!
LOL, yeah I had the same problem when I started watching the show.
More engine pod updates.
-
Correctly positioned the engine pods. Made basic pod struts as component, then used strut for equal placement.
-
Geometry clean up to make the surface flat for the side pod thing to come.
-
Looks like good progress
-
Overview time again!
-
Rear engine pod rough-in (block out) almost done.
Note the other geometry changes again on pods.
-
Rear engine side pods created. Pure fiddly work here. Had to create the faces line by line. I stared with the inner face on the engine pod itself and worked my way out. After many false starts.
Then made into component and copied, then flipped for the other side.
Again, note the very slight geometry changes on the rest of the pod.

Very sharp mate, looking forward to some renders.

Thanks as always Mike!
