Model Info and Preferences Windows not displaying

Model Info and Preferences Windows not displaying says it all.
When I go to Window/Model Info the dialog does not open
Same with window/Preferences dialogWhen Starting Sketchup 2021 I get a Message saying '\one or more of your File Location Paths are invalid. Please correct this by going to Sketchup's Preferences > Files and specify a valid path for any items shown in red.'
Anybody else seen this?
If yes, how did you fix? -
Do you use dual monitors?
Do you hear the Windows bing noise if you click the SketchUp viewport? That would be a sign the dialog is active just likely off screen.
-
Another clue would be the Menu greyed out...

I have a 3 monitor setup and I do get the 'bing' you describe when clicking on the screen.
If the dialog is 'offscreen', is there a way to get it relocated 'onscreen'?Dave
My install procedure is 'run as administrator' followed by a reboot. -
Right click the Taskbar and choose Cascade Windows...
...see if that forces the dialog to relocate.
As for the path warning that's more concerning

Tried a 'run as administrator' and 'repair'.
Rebooted and am still getting the error message.Rich
Cascade Windows did not work unfortunately. Any other ideas or should I try a 'fresh install'? -
I think Big Dave's Repair, or your Reinstall, is a good solution that should at least reset the dialogs.
But that path issue, did that just happen or did you relocate paths or move locations? That has me intrigued...
-
I did format one of my hard drives the other day, and it's happened ever since. Didn't think I'd pointed any Sketchup paths to that drive though
-
It could be related. Especially if some rarely used folder was pointing there.
Try Repair before Reinstall.
-
Repair didn't solve either issue.
A Fresh Install did..... Yay
Thanks for your advice, much appreciated Guys -
For future reference there is a key combination that lets you grab any offscreen dialog and move it into view.
So with the focus on Preferences (in other words you have tried to open it and the machine is going bing) press alt and spacebar together, then tap m once (where m is move in your language, would be d in french for example) then tap any arrow key and without clicking move the mouse around until the Dialog appears on screen.
Once you have Preferences you can use the Reset Workspace button which should bring all dialogs back to the screen.
