How to get rid of that start screen
-
Hi!
Make 2017
All is in the title...any mean? Thanks
-
Ah!Ah!
You may not had look at my profile.... I was on this forum two days before you and have always been Pro.
It's true that now that I'm retired, I'm still playing with my good old licensed V 8, which I think was the more elaborate version of Skp and with witch you can do almost everything. I use Make 2017 only for the new plugins not compatible with V8, like Artisan for example.
Please have a look at my work:

I looked. It still says you are using SketchUp 8. Maybe you could bring it up to date.

@ sketch3d.de
"even not understanding where your connotation is based on"
You are a SketchUp retailer aren't you? So it's absolutely normal that you preach for your parish@ Dave R
I will jump on board and update at any price (well almost ) as soon as my only long time hoped improvement, that is to say ease on handling large files with a few more horses under the hood will be added.@ Khai
Like dear old Snoopy says, "It's good to have friends"Have a nice day folks!

WOW, this is the most confusing, convoluted thread I have experinced as yet.

In short,
(Q) How do I stop the start screen from popping up every time I open SU?
(A) Buy SU Pro as there is no way to disable the start screen in the Make version. -

Well, I must apologize if Iβm making things confused and convoluted to some, but they may not have read that other great thread:
https://forums.sketchup.com/t/an-open-letter-to-trimble/87510?u=chippwalters
and this one too:
https://forums.sketchup.com/t/open-letter/88172And yes, I am one of those old fart who think that the planet would be much better off if we weren't in a frenzy of consumption, always upgrading and trying to go desperately faster!
Many softwares kindly offer a small checkbox to untick if you don't want to see the home screen appear at each new opening.
I feel like an intrusive injonction the way the SketchUp Make starting screen ask me to say hello!
Sorry to point it out, but it was not like that with Google SketchUp Free
True also that being retired gives us plenty of time to complain and moan a little bit about the way things are going..... . -

True also that being retired gives us plenty of time to complain and moan a little bit about the way things are going..... .Hi Elmer, no apologies required And reasonable complaints, but alas that seems to be the way things are going. Main thing is we have had years of Sketchup being owned by google that had a different objective, not entirely commercial. Unfortunately we will have to get used to Trimble or move on. I am not sure Trimble is reading the market correctly, but I may be wrong.
